Hi Everyone,

My piles of books continue to grow. However, I cannot resist the allure of new reads at the library, on my kindle, and from the give and take library in my development.

I was wondering if anyone wants to join me in a repeat of a challenge we have done before. I want to read more of the older books I have at home and I'm struggling with this. I would like to read 25 of the books I already have by the end of the year. Would anyone be interested in doing this with me?

Andrea :)

Stacie (stacieh) | 1945 comments That sounds like a good idea- there are so many things that I own but haven't read. I've been reading some of my backlog, but I haven't really made a dent in it, lol!

Great!

Leslie aka StoreyBook Reviews (hugbandit7) I am in! will we have some sort of separate thread? any sort of limitations (such as had to been purchased or obtained prior to this year?)

I get books in all the time and not sure how you determine how you have already had the books and from when

Hi Leslie,

I started a topic that says Read What You Own. You can add your own thread to that. I think however you want to personalize the challenge is fine. My goal is just to pick books that I have already in piles, shelves, and bags. We did this last year as well and I read books that I had for 1-10+ years.

Does that help?

I cleaned up the thread for this if people want to start their folders.

This is fabulous because I have a slew of Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ Giveaways I won and other physical books that I won on other sites that are piling up! I've already been trying to read a few so this will be more structured.

Rachel Joy Yes, amen and hallelujah ;)!
I seriously need to read the actual books on my actual TBR bookshelf in my bedroom. Thank you for thinking of this!

Carol (carol07) | 4199 comments I'll give it a try!

Deanne Patterson (cnnamongirlaolcom) Yes, I'm in. I need to clear my tbr shelf, hah, as if that's possible : )

message 13: by Arnetta (new)

Arnetta | 31 comments I have 6 overflowing bookshelves in my living room alone. I won't try and guess how many I haven't read. 25 in what's left of this year (while trying to sort thru, pack up, do repairs on house and get ready to move) is a huge challenge, but I'll give it a go!

Deanne Patterson (cnnamongirlaolcom) How do I get my name added to the read what you own challenge so I can start listing my books? Thanks

On the main 75 Books page, click on Read What You Own Challenger, then click on new topic on the top right, and then type in your topic name and your beginning challenge! :)

Just checking in...I've been in a bit of a reading slump. I have been keeping busy with audio books on my commute. I'm planning a wedding shower for September and it's keeping me busy. Every night I've been working on some type of crafty project.
