A glorious dream of the Middle Ages as they never were, but as they should have been. -- New York Times
Hailed as one of the great contemporary classics, The Once and Future King is T.H. White's masterly retelling of the Arthurian legend. The story of Arthur from his earliest days as the ward of Sir Ector to the final passing of the dying king is recounted in compelling detail.

The Once and Future King we have in our hands consists of four parts:
I - The Sword in the Stone
II - The Queen of Air and Darkness (somewhere titled The Witch in the Wood)
III - The Ill-Made Knight
IV - The Candle in the Wind

However, there is one book more, for those interested, that was published posthumously, The Book of Merlyn.

My original plan was to read it in two months and a half, however, I am now not certain even when I'll start reading it, so I'll omit dates here, and just post the threads as follows:

EPICS 02.1 ToaFK The Sword in the Stone #1-10
EPICS 02.2 ToaFK The Sword in the Stone #11-24
EPICS 02.3 ToaFK The Queen of Air and Darkness #1-8
EPICS 02.4 ToaFK The Queen of Air and Darkness #9-14
EPICS 02.5 ToaFK The Ill-Made Knight #1-24
EPICS 02.6 ToaFK The Ill-Made Knight #25-45
EPICS 02.7 ToaFK The Candle in the Wind #1-8
EPICS 02.8 ToaFK The Candle in the Wind #9-14
EPICS 02.9 ToaFK Movies and Comparisons

I hope this arrangement would be fine by you, I tried to separate them in reasonable chunks consisting of 50-100 pages each. For a start, I'll put only the first two threads on the board, let me know when to go forward.

Alana (alanasbooks) | 730 comments I'm almost done with this one for another group, in the last section. The Sword in the Stone is good and fun, some of the parts later drag a bit more and it has some weird, WEIRD parts, but it's an interesting read. Makes me want to read the Mallory tale.

Travis (travistousant) | 58 comments I've only ever done the sword in the stone. It was my first ever audio book. Really should re listen and see if Neville Jason narrated the other parts as well
