There are many folks who do not know what to do during a discussion and how to take part.

First, make sure to post whether you have the book or not. We need to make sure that all of the lucky recipients of the book offer have their book.

If you do not have your book - you must also let us know and keep us posted.

You can let us know on the Unreasonable Men Introduction thread or you can send a PM to Bentley.

Second, check the Table of Contents and Syllabus thread for the reading assignment for the week and do not get ahead if at all possible - so that you can keep up with the discussion and participate fully on the non spoiler weekly threads.

Third, make sure to post weekly and often on each weekly non spoiler thread participating in the discussion as much as you can. The more you and everybody posts - the better the discussion will be.

Fourth, make sure to read the book and keep up.

However, the threads are always open and you can always catch up at any time - however the discussion for you will be more interactive if you keep up and do not go ahead.

Fifth, make sure not to post any spoilers - and make sure to write a review at the end of the reading and if you got a free book add a disclaimer to your review. The review and rating are your own.

Sixth, make sure to post questions that you have for the author on the Q&A for Michael Wolraich thread.

All recipients of the book offer must post some questions for the author.

Seventh, regarding citations - on the UNREASONABLE MEN threads you do not have to cite the Unreasonable Mean book or any personage mentioned in the book.

But if you cite other books or other authors - full citations are required.

On other History Book Club threads - citations are always required aside from the book selection discussions where the same rules apply.

Eighth, regarding books that you would like to add - we have a bibliography thread if you would like to add books (with complete citations - book cover, author's photo, and author's link) on any subject related to any topic discussed in the book. We of course encourage that.

However I must remind you that there is no self promotion.

Here is the Bibliography thread for Unreasonable Men. This is a great thread which shows you all of the sources that the author used himself when writing this book.

We will be adding the citations for all of the books. Of course, the author used many other primary sources too.

Ninth, regarding the Glossary:

There is a thread called the Glossary. Here the moderators add information on a variety of topics related to the book. There is a wealth of information here on a variety of topics. We go through the book and select people, events, locations, things, ideas, etc which may need additional clarification. We add an image or two, a heading, a write-up, urls related to the subject matter, videos sometimes, podcasts sometimes, and a list of books or magazine articles. All of the information on any subject is condensed using a standard format in one message box per topic.

Look through the glossary as you read the book and each chapter. There is a wealth of information on this book in the glossary. We put together a glossary for each book we discuss as a group.
