Kiri Fiona (kirifiona) | 9 comments Hi all! Sorry if this is in the wrong folder!

So, this will be my first PNR read since Twilight 10 years ago. Which I despised.

I've narrowed it down to Dark Lover (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #1) by J.R. Ward or Darkfever (Fever, #1) by Karen Marie Moning . Both of them seem to have a cult following, and I really want to go with something good so I don't end up being put off the genre for another decade lol. Which did you like the most? If you got to be in that super sweet place where you are reading a book for the first time, which one of those would you want it to be?

Other recs are also welcome, of course...

Thanks <3

MadameZelda Fever!

Peridot_Lyoness | 26 comments Both series are pretty good... they are both pretty long series, so they have their ups and downs. My personal favorite is BDB, but the world that Moning created is very fantastic too. The (hero? antihero?) in Fever is badass to the nth degree.

Veronica-Lynn Pit Bull | 30 comments I would go with Fever. I do enjoy BDB - and have read every book in the series except the newest (waiting for the price to drop) - but I don't think the first book was the strongest in the series - it gets a LOT better (IMO)

Unless of course, you really despise anti-heroes - so if that will put you off a book, go with BDB; if you love an anti-hero - you won't find a better one than in the Fever series.

Or if you just want a really good series with a lot of action, a strong female lead and a decent romance that most people love (I just didn't feel the chemistry - but everything else is so good - who cares) consider Kate Daniels.
