Soon our book club starts with "Of Poseidon" by Anna Banks! I'm really excited to read this book and to share my opinion with you!
What do you expect from this book? How do you like it so far etc.?

I don't have much to say for this section. Most of my thoughts and opinions about this book remain the same.

With the exception that I don't like Tarif anymore.

WHY does he have to kiss Emma? WHY does he have to take the advice she gives him about playing hard-to-get? WHY?

Please Anna Banks, don't take Rachel away from me.

My opinion about the characters and the book in general has not changed either. It's such a disappointment.

Very rarely I felt so bored while reading a book...
And I wonder how often Anna Banks will describe that Emma is blushing. I know that there are people out there who blush easily but it's just annoying by now.
Another thing is that the Syrena are described with a shark tail and somehow I don't like it. I just like the aesthetics of an good old mermaid tail better.

Oh and another issue: The sexism! Many books have sexism in them but mostly they face it. Here it's just like normal.
The main topic is mating, having babies and to settle down... At least that's what I get from this book.
For example, Toraf says at some point that Rayna should decide between the kitchen and an island (mating).

I mean, what is this?!

Bro, the sexism bothered the hell out of me, too! The fact that Emma was saying "this isn't right" and then totally went along with it anyway bothers me! Why couldn't Raylen have broken up with Torif? Why couldn't that be a thing ?
