Jenny Filonczuk | 1 comments I love the Downton Abby tv show and am interested in reading some of Jullian Fellows books. But are they clean? Language? Sex scene?

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 269 comments I cannot be certain about Julian Fellowes' books but his TV scripts are clean.

Sallyavena I just read Belgraveia and I would say it is just as clean as any of Jane Austen's books. Indiscretions are talked about but no details given just like in her books. There are rakes and scoundrels and there is one storyline that involves a married woman and a single man...I would say that storyline is the inly one toeing the line if making the novel not clean. He does not describe anything in detail but it says how she is laying in his bed. If you watched Downton Abbey it is cleaner than similar storylines on that show. Hope that helps. I will say his books are VERY detailed. I described it as slugishly making my way through the book but enjoyably so. I felt like he was trying to write the way you would a script down to all the exact details of what they wore, what they ate and how they moved around. He's very thorough.
