Andrea | 5 comments I just happen to be on this category at the moment (book 27/40). I'm reading Revolutionary Road by Richard Yates with the idea that the protagonist was a reluctant housewife (like me). Turns out the protagonist is her husband who works in sales in New York (unlike me). Anyway, it's a great read and I would recommend it to reluctant salespeople in New York.

Enjoy the category!

If you're interested in my other reads for this challenge I've been logging them on Pinterest:

Thegirlintheafternoon I finally finished The Assistants, which I listened to on audiobook. The performer was solid, but I think I would have enjoyed it more in hard copy; it was such a light book that I could have finished in 2-3 hours of reading, but the audiobook was over 7 hours long. Still, I did enjoy it. 3.5/5 stars.

This was a tough one for me too. I don't have a job, but I am a full time student, I worked with that and picked a character who was a full time college student too. You might have to read a YA book, but a lot of the younger high school/college students are jobless. Examples: Twilight, The Hunger Games, The 5th Wave is new and a great read, Anne of Green Gables. Carrie and Rebecca I believe were also jobless. The selection isn't great and you might have read some already, but I had to stretch mine a little to make it work. Good luck Lili.

Angela Freeman (angielareads) | 4 comments For this one I chose, "Me Before You". I was my mommy's caregiver before her passing in December so this fit my kind of career the most. One of the most emotional scenes for me was Will not liking carrots and Lou sneaking them in. It was something I would do with my mom bc she too, did not like carrots for some odd reason. :) Great book for a good crying session!!

Jenn (engelsigh) | 5 comments I manage urgent care clinics. I'm having trouble finding books with main characters that do the same. So far I have found Deadly Practice by Bill Yancy. Does anyone else know of any others off the top of their head?

Janet Cripe (jcripe) | 39 comments Finished Olive Kitteridge by Elizabeth Strout. I'm not a math teacher but an English teacher. I'm not retired either, and after reading this book I'm not sure I ever will be retired. Not one of my favorite reads this year so far. Wishing I was a private detective so I could have read something far more exciting. ;)

I'm a mechanical engineer, and unfortunately I had read The Martian in 2015 so I couldn't use it for this category even though it would have been perfect because I also enjoy gardening! I had a surprisingly hard time finding another book with an engineer protagonist! Lots of software programmers, astronauts, soldiers, etc, but no mechanical engineers. A coworker suggested The Engineer Trilogy by K.J. Parker. So I read the first book in that series, Devices and Desires. I did not enjoy it, it was too "testosteroney".
