ABANDONED. Boy with a magic string instrument, Fantasy, YA

At one point in the story, Moril, the main character, grabs his father's large harp (a cwidder) and plays the deepest string. It ends up putting the soldiers that are chasing him and his siblings to sleep, and some of them are covered by a mountain pass collapsing on them. I'm not sure about meeting one of the fates...I think that's in a different book in the four-book series.

What reading level it is aimed at: Young Adult
What the story is about: A boy or young man finds a string instrument that has powers. The last string on the instrument is called :the grandfather string" or something like that, and should only be used for very important situations. He meets a Loom-weaver along the way, she seems to be one of the fates, and eventually destroys a massive pipe organ, used by the antagonist. The "grandfather string" is used at the very end, and the boy regrets using it, it's power is so great. I believe the story is based on polish, norwegian, or welsh folklore and that the instrument is based on ones from the region.
What the genre is: Coming of age, Fantasy
What format is the book in: Paper, paperback i believe.
