Thanks Max for starting this group. Love reading all award books but Man-Booker is my favorite for its unique, edgy and diverse topics. The full list of all the winners are are wikipedia (). I am up for reading anything the group decides and that I haven't read. Haven't gotten to BRING UP THE BODIES yet so will throw that out there (second it) but looking forward to whatever is the pick.

Now that the Man Booker Prize 2016 winner has been announced and we have a few months until the International prize longlist is announced (March 2017), it's time to return to reading the backlist of books from the Man Booker Prize winning list.
If you're new to the group, first of all, welcome! I'm so glad you're here. My name is Max, I'm the founder of this group and can't believe it's already been over a year since it started. It's been a great experience having literary discussions with you all.
When the Man Booker & International Prizes are not underway, we read books that have previously won the award.
In the past we have read the following:
-The Luminaries
-The Line of Beauty
-The Blind Assassin
-The God of Small Things
-The Narrow Road to the Deep North
-A Brief History of Seven Killings (last year's winner)
-The Sellout (this year's winner)
So when you nominate a read for November below, please do NOT include any of those. Thanks.
Anyway, as usual the rules follow:
1. Every member may nominate 1 previous winner excluding the 5 above that we've read previously
2. Every member may second (or upvote) 2 other nominations by other members.
So for example, I might nominate The Sense of an Ending by Julian Barnes. Another member could nominate Bring Up the Bodies by Hilary Mantel and then upvote my nomination. So my pick would have 2 votes and theirs would have 1, etc. I hope that makes sense. If you're confused, just pay attention to what other people are doing and it should start to make sense.
Also, please DO NOT nominate a book if you see someone has already nominated it in this thread. If I nominate The Sense of an Ending, you can't nominate it also. Please just upvote it so that I can add a tally to keep track of how many people are interested. You can choose not to nominate something else if you really want to read The Sense of an Ending, etc. But don't use your nomination on something that I or someone else just nominated.
NOMINATIONS CLOSE ON October 31, 2016 at midnight! I know this is kind of rushed, my apologies. I've been busy and a bit ill, so it slipped my mind to start the nominations for next month. December will have more preparation time.
Sorry for the long post but it's been a while since we've done this and I know a lot of new people have joined. As always, feel free to message me if you have any questions.
Let's get nominating!
