NetGalley

Feed Your Readers, the NetGalley Challenge

Duration: Monthly

How to Participate:

The NetGalley Challenge is designed to not only get you to read your NetGalley books, but to also advertise your reviews for others to see because after all, that's what NetGalley is all about.

Though you may pop in/out at any time, the NetGalley Challenge will run on a monthly basis so you are able to see progress being made.

1. At the beginning of the month, post any/all of the following:
a: How many books on your NetGalley shelf
b: What books are on your NG shelf
c: What your Netgalley feedback ratio is

2. During the month, read the NetGalley books that you can AND update your post with your reviews. (You can do this after each book or wait until the end of the month.)

3. At the end of the month, update your post and with:
a: What books you read
b: Link(s) to your review(s)**
c: Your updated shelf count
d: Your updated books to read
e: Your updated ratio

Then start a new post for the next month!

But Wait, There's More

Do you ever get so caught up in your reading that you don't want to stop to write your reviews?

Thinking about that, it was decided we need a "Review Weekend", once each month, set aside to write those reviews you've been not doing in favor of reading!

Review Weekends will vary randomly each month and is meant to be a time set aside to review. Take one, or both days and get caught up on reviews so you can spend the rest of the month reading!!

The next Review Weekend is set for November 19th & 20th

**When linking your reviews, please link only to the book(s) here at GoodReads. At this time, linking to a personal blog is not allowed. Thank you!

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments The new Mercy Thompson is on netgalley...so of course I requested it!!!

Well... having so many unreviewed Berkley books means I probably will be denied.... which is good for my list...

On the other hand... omigosh... they're going to deny me my Mercy... how will I survive????

message 17: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Field (nicolefield) | 1778 comments MERCY THOMPSON!!?

Okay, if you're gonna get denied, I'm almost definitely gonna get denied at only 60%, but I have to still try!

message 18: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments When I requested last Mercy my ratio was waaaaay under that and I still got it... And the latest Alpha & Omega too.... But 5 of 8 of my books are from Berkley group and 3 of those are past the archiving date (one of them today) so yeah, I'm worried.

message 19: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Thank you for requesting a title via NetGalley from Berkley. Your request has been approved; you can now access that title by logging into NetGalley. Check your Dashboard, or your Activity section.

message 34: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Field (nicolefield) | 1778 comments Hey guys, how do you put up a review on Amazon when you've gotten the book from Netgalley? I tried doing it but was getting an error because it hasn't registered me actually buying the book.

I also tried signing into Amazon with the kindle.com address that I use for Netgalley, but no luck there either.

Danielle Gypsy Soul (afdaniellet) As long as it's passed the published date I haven't had any issues putting a review for a book on Amazon even if I didn't buy it through Amazon. Don't put that you were given the book in exchange for a review though they changed the rules so now you say Voluntary review of Advance Reader Copy from NetGalley or something like that.

message 36: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Field (nicolefield) | 1778 comments I don't even get that far, Danielle. I get an error that says:

To submit reviews, customers must make a minimum amount of valid debit or credit card purchases. Prime subscriptions and promotional discounts don't qualify towards the purchase minimum. For more information, see our Customer Review Guidelines.

Danielle Gypsy Soul (afdaniellet) Have you ever bought anything on Amazon? You do have to have spent $50 on Amazon through your account to be able to post reviews.

message 38: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Field (nicolefield) | 1778 comments Ah. That'll be it then. Guess I'll just keep on posting reviews to ŷ only :)

Danielle Gypsy Soul (afdaniellet) You could post on Barnes and Noble I don't think they have any restriction like that in place.

message 40: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Field (nicolefield) | 1778 comments Hahah, here was me just looking at my Netgalley percentage and wondering how it was so low, before realising that I hadn't copied some of my more recent reviews over there.... >.>
