Questions or problems with completed task posts will be posted here.

If you have questions about your points on the Readerboard:

1. Make sure that the Readerboard has been updated through the post that you are concerned about.
2. Please check your math.
3. Check to see if one of your posts is listed in this thread with a question. If so, please make a NEW POST in the Completed tasks thread to clear up the question. DO NOT go back and edit the original post. I will not go backwards in the completed task thread to pick up points.
4. To avoid further questions/problems, please refer to the TASK DESCRIPTIONS and the POSTING REQUIREMENTS.

Thank you for helping keep the record keeping for the challenge as manageable as possible.

Task 5.3 The Golden Compass The genre childrens is present on the main page.
genres at review:
Fantasy 17,307 users
Young Adult 5,918 users
Fiction 3,786 users
Childrens 1,100 users
See top shelves..

Please review the rules for books with the main page genre childrens or kids. Books Formats #4.

message 3: by Denise (new)

Denise (lifewithnoplot) | 67 comments Sorry about that. I saw this as a YA book, didn't see the Childrens designation.

From AR Bookfinder:

The Golden Compass
Pullman, Philip
AR Quiz No. 15085 EN Fiction
IL: UG - BL: 7.1 - AR Pts: 19.0
AR Quiz Types: RP, VP
Rating:
Accompanied by her daemon, Lyra Belacqua sets out to prevent her best friend and other kidnapped children from becoming the subjects of gruesome experiments in the Far North. The plot contains descriptions of children's deaths.

Per SRC Rules: "Books that have an IL designation of MG+ or UG may be used with no restrictions (other than general SRC and specific task requirements)."

So this book should count, I just didn't notate it properly. Again, sorry about that. Do I need to re-post it in Completed Tasks, or does this suffice?

Task 10.6 requires "State in your post that this was a new author for you in 2016" You stated "I have read two of Lauren's other books this year for the Seasonal reading challenge."
You will need to repost and confirm that this was a new author to you in 2016, not that you have read this author in 2016.

Task 30.4
You linked to a Large type edition of A Gentleman in Moscow
From the rules:
Large Type books may be used....Big Book tickets may be claimed for Large Type books if the mass market paperback meets the Big Book requirement. If there is no mass market paperback edition, use the paperback edition and if no paperback is available use the hardcover edition.
The non-large-type print edition determined via the method above should be used for tasks requiring page numbers.

The paperback A Gentleman in Moscow has 462 pages and does not meet the 600 pages required for this task.

Task 10.6 Signal Boost appears to be an ebook without a print edition. You must have it approved for length in Ebook page verification in General Help.
Your post must include the line number of the approval in the ebook spreadsheet or a link/post number of the post in which the ebook was approved for length.
Please repost with the required information.

Shanna_redwind | 754 comments Ok. I've posted for verification. Sorry about that. The first in the series had a print edition and I must have made a poor assumption based on that and not checked.

Shanna, a librarian will need to add it to GR. I am unable to do so as I am traveling and not on my own computer with my links available to me. Perhaps another librarian will see this and be able to help.

If you are claiming a big book, you must explicitly say so in your post - a tally at the bottom is not enough.

For Big Books: You must specifically state in your completed task post that a book is a Big Book, state how many pages it has, and link to the exact edition you read.

Task 30.8 requires "a combined total of at least 500 pages."

From the rules determining page numbers:
12. Large Type books may be used. The mass market paperback edition of the title must meet the 100 page threshold. If there is no mass market paperback edition, use the paperback edition and if no paperback is available use the hardcover edition. Big Book tickets may be claimed for Large Type books if the mass market paperback meets the Big Book requirement. If there is no mass market paperback edition, use the paperback edition and if no paperback is available use the hardcover edition.
