Gosh it really is going by fast, isn't it?
I will keep going with my Netgalley list, not sure which books I will choose yet.

Yes! I haven't really seen this year pass. I can't believe it's already December!

For me, it's going to be:

This year hollidays fall on a weekend so not much extra time for reading, besides there's no much time with all the festivities and familiar visits.
I find it interesting that you plan your readings neatly. Do you always achieve such goals!? That's great. I tend always to overestimate my reading time and finnish with more reading material on my hands than time to acomplish it.
Well, not always, I for one have lots of trouble planning what I read because it depends on my mood at the time, but it's nice to share what you do intend to read and hey maybe even find someone to do a buddy read with.
I am reading Only Blue Will Do now and I do plan to stick with my Netgalley list but I have a few paperbacks lined up and I think I will start digging on that pile as well.
I think I will start with a second hand book someone gave me but I don't remember the title, at work now, so I hope I will remember to add it later. And scan it with the GoodReads up! Spiffy feature.

But as Ana says, it's interesting to share, and you might find a buddy to read along with.
Also, between all group reads/clubs, it's pretty easy to have a few "must read" along.
Also, lately, I have been exchanging quite a few books with friends, so of course, they get on the top of my reading list, in order not to keep them too long.
And finally, I travel quite a lot. The ebook helps with having a large choice of reading material wherever I am, but I still like to have a few paper books with me (Chinese flight attentends are really annoying about electronics during take-off and landing). So I kind of have to think about what I want to bring with me in my luggage in advance.
All this makes for a lot of planning for my reading schedule!

By the way, Melas what kind of ebook reader do you use. I am thinking of buying something of the sort, but I face two problems. First most of my ebooks are in pdf or epub format and since the ereader I fancy the most (kindle paper white) only reads mobi files that's a concern. The second problem is the dimension of the device itself. I would prefer a bigger format to read comics but I would prefer a smaller/medium size one to read fiction.
As far as I investigated ereaders are best to read fiction with no pictures. Art books, manuals and study material are perhaps better read in traditional paper still.
I as most of us humans beings prefer to hold a tradional book in my hands and even if I am not against inovation and technology I belive it's still far to surpase this great human invention. On the other hand I have no nostalgic sense of book losse and so on. All I want is a way to access the content, the story itself.
So that's the reason I though about buy some of those tiny devices.

Yes, that is a pretty common problem around here ^^

I use a Sony eReader, one of the first models on the market (yes, it's old, but still working ^^). They read pdf and epub.
You can ask Kandice too, I think she has a Nook and quite likes it. And if I am not wrong, it reads pdf and epub too.
But don't worry about format. Programs such as Calibre can convert the ebooks for you into the right format!
Regarding comics/fiction, as mentionned above, I am using pretty "old" technology. But I think that there are new eReaders with colors, in order to read comics/magazines. To be checked. Anyways, only you can decide on that (or you can buy two ereaders ^^).

By the way I already have Calibre too! I am using it to store my ebooks and keep track of them. I'm thinking of listing them here on GR too. Maybe in the near future.

Melas is right, I have a Nook and have for years, as do all my family members. You can get one right now for $49.99 that is full color, print is back lit, and comics and magazines look gorgeous on it. Melas is also right that calibre can reformat almost anything, but you can side load PDFs and mobi files on any Nook.
An advantage to Nook that I love is it's size and the fact that you can walk into any B&N store and someone will help you face to face if there are issues. I've had them replaced in the store when something went wrong. You can also read anything available in any B&N store for free for an hour at a time when you are using a Nook.
It's a nice enough display that you can watch Netflix on it, and it's loud enough that you can listen to Pandora or whatever else you want. I think it's the perfect travel companion.

So my main concern now is that the reading feels the most like the original thing. In that case backlight is the first thing I don't want to have. Second I will have in concideration both dimension and maybe heaviness. I need to look further into this.

I'm not sure how heavy Kindles are, but I know Nooks are very light now. Not when they first started making them, but that has changed a LOT.
Sorry I couldn't be more help!
I have a few friends that also have a device called a Kobo. Maybe you could look into that since it isn't Amazon or B&N.
Another idea is any kind of tablet will allow you to download Nook and Kindle apps and read books from either platform, so you really don't need one of their devices at all. Maybe you just need to visit a store and hold the devices to get a feel for them.
My request for Carnivalesque was approved on Netgalley, I intend to read it soon.
Sorry, app doesn't allow linking to book.

hi Kandice, thanks a lot for your reply. It gave me some help. I have a small tablet which I use with the kindle app already. My main concern is really the backlit. I would do better without it. So, that's the reason I am trying to decide the best device without backlit. Heaviness will be the second problem, but not very relevante. I will look it around a bit and maybe trying some devices at the store as you suggested before decide.
