Next on my list is Where There's A Will by Alex Carver. I am currently reading Mirth Defects by Clint Forgy. As soon as I am caught up, I plan to read you all, one at a time. I'm always on the lookout for wonderful new authors to follow!

C.L. Lynch (cllynchauthor) | 210 comments I'm planning to read Modified once I get off my current writing jag and go back to book-eating.

Thank you, Julie. I hope it doesn't damage your psyche too much. :)

I want to tell you how good you are, but you probably already know :)

Clint Forgy (clintforgy) | 18 comments Julie wrote: "I want to tell you how good you are, but you probably already know :) "

:) I keep hearing that but it's truly humbling and it floors me every time. Carole P. Roman's review said "Forgy is a wonderful writer" and I still look around this empty room to see which one of my relatives is writing books!
But I do kinda like it. :) I'll let you pat me on the head when you're ready. It'll embarrass me a little bit but I'll get over it.

I meant what I said and I said what I meant!!

message 8: by C.L. (new)

C.L. Lynch (cllynchauthor) | 210 comments I know what you mean, Clint. Praise from objective strangers floors me. I had a recent review which said "Ms. Lynch can write" and it was the best praise I ever had. I think those are the very words we all need to hear.

message 9: by N.N. (new)

N.N. Heaven (nnlight) Trust me, Clint, I feel the same way. Whenever I get a review or praise from a reader (not related to me in any way, shape or form), I'm floored.

Best part is that it never gets old. At the end of the day, I'm a storyteller and I write for the reader's enjoyment. :)

Finished Beyond Stone /book/show/3... was like a trip into the Twilight Zone.

Now starting Safety Goose by Yvonne Jones.

My pleasure! It reminded me a lot of my son's book, The History Major. You should check it out. Different stories but the same eerie feel.

I read Obsessed by Alex R. Carver. Very good read. I highly recommend this book to any fan of mystery or short stories!

I also just read If You Were Me and Lived in...China: A Child's Introduction to Culture Around the World by Carole P. Roman. Fantastic interactive way to introduce children to the history, architecture, language, foods, and culture of China. I enjoyed it as much as my kids and can't wait to read more of these books. One of my new favorite educational children's series!

message 20: by Carole (new)

Thanks Erica!! You made my day!

message 21: by Nathan (new)

Nathan Bush | 88 comments I'm reading Baqash by CE Wilson but will be reading Obsessed by Alex Carver as soon as I'm done. As I've heard positive things about it, and it's in my genre for writing, I'm definitely looking forward to it. And since I don't get a lot of time to read it's a bonus to be a short one.

message 22: by Nathan (new)

Nathan Bush | 88 comments Don't thank me yet, Alex. One of the last books I read took me a month and I'm only 13% done with the one I'm currently reading, so it could be awhile. :) But I will get to it.

message 23: by Jennifer (last edited Jan 24, 2017 03:14AM) (new)

Jennifer S. Alderson (jennifesalderson) | 79 comments I've got to pick up a few new titles still, but I have already read and enjoyed books by authors in this group. Shiva XIV by Lyra Shanti, Davenport House by Marie Silk and An Enlightening Quiche by Eva Pasco. Enjoyed them all and recommend them! Check out my reviews here on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ when you get a chance.

Nely Cab (nelycab) | 66 comments I just picked up Navigating Indieworld: A Beginner's Guide to Self-Publishing and Marketing Your Book. I hope to get to it between revision edits on my Spanish translation for my first book. :D

Thanks for getting it. Let us know if you enjoy it!

message 29: by C.C. (new)

C.C. Bolick (ccbolick) | 66 comments Navigating Indieworld is filled with info about the entire self-pub process. I liked that it also discussed reaching bloggers and creating an audio book, both of which I knew nothing about.

I would definitely recommend Where There's a Will by Alex Carver. Although that's never been a genre I've read much, I thought the characters were fleshed out I couldn't put it down.

C.L. Lynch's book Chemistry is absolutely hilarious.

Just picked up a copy of Shiva XIV by Lyra Shanti and Station Alpha by Aislinn Kearns.

This thread was such a great idea!

Lyra Shanti (lyrashanti) | 76 comments Thank you so much for the kind words about Shiva XIV, Jennifer, and about a Rainbow Serpent, Laura!
Hope you enjoy Shiva XIV, C.C!

My reading list right now is ridiculously huge, and I work FT unfortunately, but I love reading indie books. I will try to get to everyone's eventually!

message 37: by Cecily (new)

Cecily Wolfe | 19 comments I read Kay MacLeod's Heirs of Power - great start to a promising fantasy series!

message 38: by Aislinn (new)

Aislinn Oh my goodness, people have been reading my books and I didn't even know this thread existed. Thank you so much to Christine, Carole, and Margaret. You guys rock!!! I really appreciate the lovely reviews.

I've read Alex Carver's Obsessed, and will hunt through some other books to read this month. Thanks again!

C.C. Bolick (ccbolick) | 66 comments Recently finished two good books - Station Alpha by Aislinn Kearns and Shiva XIV by Lyra Shanti.

If you're into YA, would definitely recommend Awoken by Sarah Noffke.

Just picked up a copy of Davenport House by Marie Silk and Witches Protection Program by Michael Phillip Cash.

Thanks CC. Hope you enjoy my son's book. ;) I have Shiva in my tbr pile. Station Alpha was an exciting read, and Sarah Noffke'a Awoken is the beginning of a thrilling series. Marie Silk's Davenport was a great read too.

message 42: by Kay (new)

Kay | 414 comments I have the first two books of Ember Raine Winters Born series in my tbr pile, I'm looking forward to getting into them!

Yay! Am I allowed to say I love Pokergeist? Seduction of Granny I read when I was in Vegas last month. I couldn't put it down. I was on vacation in Vegas and sitting in my room reading. I love Vegas, but I enjoyed Clint's book more. lol

message 44: by Carole (new)

Carole P. Roman | 4665 comments Mod
I don't feel the crowds there. Vegas is one place I feel very much alone. ( but in a good way) We have been vacationing there for almost forty years and and watched the city grow. Each one of us loves in in a very singular way, even the grandkids.

message 45: by Crystal Dawn (new)

Crystal Dawn (crystal_dawn) | 55 comments I just finished My Abigail by David Duane Kummer by David Duane Kummer. I highly recommend it! David is a prodigy!

message 46: by Groovy (new)

Groovy Lee I agree, Crystal Dawn. To be so young, David is a talented writer. I can only imagine what wonderful stories will come out of him years from now. I have his new book on my Kindle ready to read. And his work is clean, I like that.

I've got three "If you were me and lived in...", I enjoyed them. Wish I had them when I was home-schooling my kids.

Now, I'm going to try some other members.

Yeah, I went a but overboard with Amazon's 1-click buy feature this month lol.

Cecily Wolfe | 19 comments I just read/reviewed Ember Raine Winters's Beautiful Delusions - which was spectacular! I kept reading during my breaks at work and I admit, was a little late getting back on task all week! I was a part of the release day launch party on Facebook for this great title, and it was a lot of fun, so many thanks to Ember for including me!
