I plan to go for:

Blink by K.L. Slater Doll House by John Hunt The Girlfriend by Michelle Frances See What I Have Done by Sarah Schmidt Wicked Prayers by S.D. Moore

Not sure if I can get through all of them but I will try!

Kandice I have tried so many times in this group to make a monthly plan like you guys. I have the best intentions, but I always get distracted! I am only going to list a couple I want to read in February and then be realistic about my flibberdeegittidness.

Yes Please Yes Please by Amy Poehler
Me Before You (Me Before You, #1) by Jojo Moyes (I've already read it, but need to reread for my RL book group)
White Noise by Don DeLillo

and then whatever strikes my fancy!

I totally get you, Kandice.

Also, I keep requesting new books on Netgalley and then I want to read those before the ones I mentioned... Meh.

Great picks, Gavin. Looking forward to your opinion on Catcher in the Rye, read it a couple months ago.

I've heard a lot of good about it! I am still waiting for my copy though. Ordered it more than a month ago, hope it'll be waiting for me when I get back from my holidays and that it is not lost...

Melaslithos | 1645 comments The result this month was a bit more than expected (even though most of those are really short read)

Un papillon sous la neige by Daphne Kalotay Las Huellas Secretas by Julia Alvarez There Is an Anger That Moves by Kei Miller Bloody Valentine by James Patterson The Last Warner Woman by Kei Miller The Vagina Monologues by Eve Ensler Rivers of London (Peter Grant, #1) by Ben Aaronovitch The Home Crowd Advantage (Peter Grant, #1.5) by Ben Aaronovitch

Globally, I can say that I prefer Kei Miller's poems more than his novel, but all are interesting, and a great way to discover Jamaica.

As for The Vagina Monologues, maybe I was expecting too much from it, seeing what everyone was saying about it, but I didn't find it as "revolutionary" as what I was hoping for. It still made for an interesting read, but it let me a bit short. Maybe because I have never been afraid myself to say and call things by their name, and using the word vagina. Maybe because I can't even remember being too ashame or shy to talk about these subject. But for me, all these were "normal" matters and conversation subjects. But I do recognize that it is an important book to be all there for all the women who didn't have my education or habits.

And Rivers of London was great! Looking forward to the second one (I need to get my hands on that book first).

Nice month, Melas!

I actually didn't do too badly. I read 8 books, the only one from my list above that I didn't get to was The Girlfriend.

My final list is here:

My book of the month was The House by Simon Lelic but I also enjoyed Little Girl Lost by Carol Wyer and Sleeping Giants (Themis Files, #1) by Sylvain Neuvel very much.

Ah cool, I am reading it now, only 11 pages in but it seems pretty cool in a crazy detached from this world kinda way.
