Gorana | 98 comments Wowww, very impressive:)
How many hours do you usually spend reading in one day? and how long does it take you to read one book? I wish i was a fast reader :)

message 61: by Hollis (new)

Hollis Williams (hdow) | 347 comments I'm not sure how many hours I spend exactly, but it's a lot (as you can imagine). I'm always reading on the bus etc. although I draw the line at reading and walking at the same time. Basically, I will read 100 pages of a book per day. So a book that is 420 pages long will take me 4 days to finish. At any one time, I will be reading at least 3 books at once.

382.) Asimov's Guide to Shakespeare by Isaac Asimov (1500 pages)

message 73: by Hollis (new)

Hollis Williams (hdow) | 347 comments I read three books at once. None of them are audio books. They are all books that I have used my eyes to read.

I think the commute is definitely where most people lose a lot of their potential reading time. Obviously you can read if you use the train or bus etc. but if you drive, I think audio books are a great alternative. That way you can read a book and take in the information whilst still being able to drive. (Is that 2 hours in the day, or 2 hours there and another 2 back?)

383.) The Facts by Philip Roth

message 74: by Hollis (new)

Hollis Williams (hdow) | 347 comments Well, I don't really think about it that much. I don't know how unusual it is, but if I want to read the amount that I do, I have no choice but to read multiple books at once.

message 77: by Lisa (new)

Lisa (lisa_lipkind_leibow) | 57 comments I'm a huge fan of listening to audio books during "down time" like commuting or during the drudgery of folding laundry and the like. I highly recommend it! Good Luck! I can't wait to hear how it improves your outlook on the traffic!

Jessica wrote: "I have a hard time reading more than one at a time, but I can imagine that would up the overall numbers. Also, how many of these do you think are audio books? I have a long commute that is only goi..."
