I'd love to use this post for me or anyone else to ask for suggestions for a word or phrase to complete a sentence when you're/I'm stuck.

This is a very good idea indeed!

How's that supposed to work if you can't think of the work you're trying to think of? LOL.

You can always describe it, you know, like what writers do ;)

Example: My characters are trying to make their escape over water, so they jump in a thingy... I can't think of the word... It's not a motorboat. It has an air filled thing on the bottom and can move over dry land too.

Hovercraft?

I was thinking hovercraft, also. The ones you use in the south, swamp lands :)

I believe the ones used in the bayous etc are called airboats.

edit: And I only know this because it was brought up on the Creative Penn podcast as she (Joanna Penn) is in New Orleans LOL

Airboats
