Jackie (irrelavantreader) | 11 comments So, I've been looking for a large bookshelf; the smaller one that I have now can only hold about 60 books, give or take. I've been looking online and I can't find a bigger one and I feel like I'm just not looking in the right places. I'm starting to surpass my shelf's limit, lol. Does anyone have a link or know a good online store that I can order one from?

Swati | 18 comments have you looked at IKEA?? They have a big selection of shelves, both big and small :)

Floating bookshelves are pretty easy to make and look pretty as well, they can hold quite a few books ;)

Caitlin (brilliantglow) | 28 comments I agree with Swati, the Ikea bookshelves are some of the nicest I've come across. They're relatively cheap (~80CAD), they're taller and wider than most other bookshelves offered by walmart and similar AND the shelves don't get all warped from the weight of books. One of Ikeas's Billy bookshelves holds about 150 books of varying sizes.

Fishface My suggestion is to get some of those assemble-it-yourself utility shelves that go together with a screwdriver. Available everywhere from WalMart to Home Depot. There's an enormous selection of sizes, they're cheap and they're designed to hold heavy items. I have them all over my house, most of them spray-painted white with Rustoleum.

Google "steel utility shelves" images and you'll see what I mean.
