I took a leap of faith hiring Shalini to beta read the second book of my trilogy. My traditionally published novel, Golden Skies, debuts June 12th, and I wanted to find absolute quality. I found a diamond.

Shalini delivers extremely detailed feedback - she responds quickly to author inquiries via email and has no problem answering a writer's endless tirade of questions to be able to fix mistakes (we probably had like 70 emails between the both of us). But what is most striking about Shalini is her willingness to sit down and brainstorm with writers to find solutions to those mistakes.

Shalini is so incredibly thorough and detailed in her feedback that it may as well have been its own novel. She was very fast, considering my book was 144k words and she went through it at least three times before giving her feedback. She's also more than willing to be incredibly positive about things that she loved, which is nice, as I have also had experiences with overly-negative betas that leave a bad taste in your mouth. I liked how she gave an overview, but also gave a lot of her thoughts as she was reading. I will definitely be making use of her on future books.

Shalini was a proper god-send.

After anguishing over a series of books that went well beyond my initial estimate she pointed out swathes of prose that had little or no bearing on the plot; she exposed actors that were either unnecessary or too stereotypical and all wrapped up in a very detailed summary.

When I first contacted Shalini G. I was not sure what to expect. I had paid more to professional editors previously and had not found them very helpful. I was blown away by Shalini’s detailed feedback, in depth analysis and her generous and professional advice.

I was thoroughly impressed with Shalini's beta read of my novel. Criticism. Yeah, we all hate it. But what's important is what we DO with it. Hiring an honest, reliable beta reader like Shalini who is not afraid to offer her feedback has helped me tremendously as an author.
