Can you help fill in the blanks plz?

I loved Covet, but can't seem to recall much of Crave... Can anyone please share some of the important bullet points? I've just began book 3, and it seems as if it picked up right where 2 ended, is that correct? Also, who mauled Kroner? Thanks!!!
I am still reading covet having just started the series seems amazing regardless.
I read Crave. But I'll admit it wasn't quite the fave of the series for me. And at most I recall from that, was it being important for Matthias to see for himself that Jim was dead. And even eventually Matthias was supposed to be the soul to save instead of the main character guy. Beyond all that can't recall anything else particularly important in that one. Sorry.
