So a lot of people are saying you should be a certain age to read GOT but what about another favorite book of mine The Mists of Avalon? It's also a more grown up fantasy book and is also filled with violence, a violent sexual scene, and many love scenes. Does anyone find this book equally mature in content? If so why? Do you see it as better, worse or equal to GoT in terms of content unsuitable for young readers?

Also what about Mary Stewart's Merlin trilogy. Their is a VERY graphic and violent sexual scene in this book yet no one ver mentions it.

I think that a person can very well decide for themselves, what is appropriate to read (or play as a video game for that matter). If you're interested in something, you are ready for it. I think many people are overly careful.
