donna backshall (dtamayob) | 64 comments Has she read Kate Atkinson's Life After Life? It is a strong literary fiction novel which follows the life of a woman who is born in 1911, and when fate allows, survives through WWII. I found it fascinating, though somewhat dark in parts, as it gives an unflinching view of life and love, especially in wartime. If she enjoys this, there is a sequel, A God in Ruins, which follows the woman's brother through the same time period.

Mirkat | 54 comments If she likes Jodi Picoult, she might also enjoy Liane Moriarty. Her audiobooks (at least the three I've listened to) have a wonderful narrator, who really adds something to the books: Caroline Lee.

I haven't read Jodi Picoult, so I can't say whether I find her similar to Liane Moriarty. But, I am currently listening to Truly Madly Guilty and I really like the narration. My library has The Husband's Secret available in audio also, so I'm planning on listening to that as well.

I've also heard really good things about Life After Life, like Donna mentioned, but I haven't read it myself.

Mirkat | 54 comments Megan: you can also listen to Big Little Lies in audio--same wonderful narrator. :)

You are in for a treat at the end of Truly Madly Guilty, as there is a bonus track featuring the narrator interviewing the author.

I've already read Big Little Lies in hardback, so I probably won't be listening to the audio version. Plus, my library only has Truly Madly Guilty and The Husband's Secret available in audio. I'll have to remember not to turn off the audiobook at the end, so I can listen to the interview.

Megan (meggiemine) Oh, and I did some digging the other day for info on the narrator, Caroline Lee. I had listened to some of her narration on a Kate Morton novel, and she does an English accent for Morton's books. So, I was curious about whether Lee was Australian or English.

It looks like Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ has incorrectly linked the author Caroline Lee with the narrator Caroline Lee. I think they're too separate people with the same name. Caroline Lee, the narrator, has her own website , and she looks nothing like the Caroline Lee that Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ credits as being the narrator for Liane Moriarty's audiobooks.

Mirkat | 54 comments Off to report the misattribution at the Librarian group.... I thought it was curious that the narrator was also an author with a long list of books of her own (not that it's impossible, but it's not usual....)

Dee (austhokie) | 1921 comments if you've never checked out Literature Map - I find it to be a decent resource for similar authors - - this is what it has for Jodi Picoult - you may need to do some research to find authors that have audiobooks

Aurelia Scott | -3 comments I second Donna's suggestion of Kate Atkinson's (audio)books. Also, how about Rachel Joyce's The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry (read by Jim Broadbent) and The Love Song of Miss Queenie Hennessy (read by Celia Imrie)? And Euphoria by Lily King, performed by Simon Vance and Xe Sands. I walked around in a daze listening to all three, not wanting to do anything else. And I, too, like Jodi Picoult.

Denise (drams5) | 84 comments I think Heather Gudenkauf books have a similar feel to Jodi Picoult. I also adored the audio of The Supremes at Earl's All-You-Can-Eat, but you have to hang in there for a few chapters because it starts off a little bit weird.
