Yes, that is a concern...and one of the challenges of a group like this. I'm sorry. It's one of the reasons I waited until June before I even started a book of the month in hopes that libraries would have received the books we discuss.

If you see any other books that were published in May or June on the bookshelf that your library does have, I would be happy to add them to the voting poll.

Jessica (loveyourlibrary) | 7 comments I am wondering what type of library you are at. Some of these titles specifically Calpurnia Tate have gotten great reviews and some great buzz. Maybe you could inter library loan some of the titles?

LauraW (lauralynnwalsh) | 115 comments I have tried interlibrary loan in the past, but it is anything but convenient. It takes a long time and they are very strict about return times. Part of the problem is that the schools are a part of the public library system here, which is great on the whole, but it means that during the summer, lots of books that would normally be available aren't.

I did just get a notice that Marcelo is available for me.

That’s wonderful. I can also see that it would be good to have the libraries connected but how it might slow things down in the summertime.

I have had so much trouble with interlibrary loan that I abandoned it altogether. Sometimes it just doesn't work out.

Bayside LMC Lmc (baysidelmc) | 4 comments I have gotten some of these books from the public library which is very convenient in my area. I reserve the book online and when it comes in to one of the branches I get an email and can pick it up at my local branch.

I also ordered a lot for my middle school library in June and they came in over the summer. Now I just have to get busy reading before the kids get at them! I am going to involve the kids in a Mock Newbery club in the fall. This site is an enormous resource for me!
