See Next stage of goal in post #128
My focus will be on Bookopoly for which my latest (3rd) Jail book will be due on 15th so hopefully I'd have started earlier in the month but I doubt I'd have finished it so:
Bookopoly: to finish off the Peanuts edition
Come In Spinner (702 pages)
I've started reading 11/06 so will update progress before read-a-thon begins
MM17: 1 last book to finish this
An Expert in Murder (Josephine Tey #1) by Nicola Upson (292 pages) -Read 11/15
Scattershelves:
The Blood of an Englishman (Agatha Raisin #25) by M.C. Beaton (294 pages) -Read 11/16
Killer Women: Crime Club Anthology #1 by various authors (210 pages)
Additional options if I finished either of above book before read-a-thon ends:
CiJ Round 1: 1 last book
Wayfarer (Passenger #2) by Alexandra Bracken (544 pages)
CiJ Round 2: I still need quite a number of books to finish off but for this read-a-thon, I'd read
Lady Bridget in the Never-Never Land by Rosa Praed (320 pages)

The focus is individual, Karin, as everyone will have different challenges in mind, I think. We only have the page numbers read as a team goal.

I don't know yet on which goals I'm going to focus, because I'm now already working on finishing up some challenges. I hope to have the lost and moving hills challenge finished by the time of the read-a-thon. I think for the read-a-thon I'll read some 5 or 6 word titles or yellow covers for challenges for another group.

See how you go, Marina, still a few weeks before we start.
I find Netflix binge during reading slump usually gets me back to reading ;p

I'll probably work on Bookopoly. Maybe Scattershelves, depending on how far I've gotten on my November list by then.
Is working on both at the same time an option, or do you prefer we choose just one?

Update Nov 10: Only 1 LOST left, so I'm going to work also on the December Scattershelves (KRNJB) and Christmas in July (KBNDCWP).
Nov. 13
Only Time Will Tell, Pages read: 157

I do prefer that we just choose one especially one that just needed that little last bit of push so that when readathon finishes, we'd finished that challenge & have that feeling of accomplishment :) However, I'm not going to forbid you from working with different challenges though. Just my thoughts...

I'll be focusing on Scattershelves. And I'll hopefully be settled into maternity leave by the time this kicks off. (Which either means a lot more reading time or a lot less!)

Ooh!!! Congrats! When are you due?

Great, this is perfect and what I initially thought!

I've only read 2 of my LOST 2017, so that better be my (secret!) focus.
Yikes, I've just checked - my remaining 8 LOST books have an average of 450 pages each!!
I think I will try to finish up LOST.
Edit: I have requested the last two books from the library. So far no notice that they are in. I might have to change my plan.
For Scattershelves, I have 10 books from the library or owned available to me. That will not complete Scattershelves but will make progress on July, August, November and December and will complete September.
For Moving Mountains, I own 2 books of the 7 remaining.
For Christmas in July, I need 3 for part 1 and 3 for part 2. I am currently reading one of the three for part 2 and own two of the three for part 2.
Decisions, decisions.

November 1st. :D"
I think that means a lot less reading hahaha... it's really hard holding a book whilst breastfeeding and definitely can't hold a book whilst bottle feeding lol (I'd recommend an ereader of some sort if not audiobook) ;)
Exciting times ahead, Ashleigh :)

Oops! good luck, Lagullande, hopefully they're good reads so they don't feel like 450 pagers ;)

In that case I'll go with Lost. I have only two books to read there, but one is long and one is old ... neither one is very appealing, but I need to get them read.

Nov 8, 2017: I'll start adding books from the 12 Days of Christmas challenge below! For now:
* Los misterios de la gata Holmes by Jirō Akagawa (246 pages) [The mysteries of the Holmes cat] Only 72 pages read...
* To Each His Own by Leonardo Sciascia (176 pages) (13/11/2017)
* El Evangelio según Van Hutten by Abelardo Castillo (172 pages) [The Evangel According to Van Hutten] ~~~> (And for the challenge below!) (19/11/2017)
* The Scorpion God: Three Short Novels by William Golding (last 31 pages) (19/11/2017)
* Noches en Fitzrovia by Julian Maclaren-Ross (last 33 pages) [Nights in Fitzrovia] (19/11/2017)
Nov 14, 2017: I've realized that since 2016 I've only read 3 books written by authors from my country so- as a side challenge- I'll try to read at least one in the next days...
* Un cementerio perfecto by Federico Falco (175 pages) [A Perfect Cemetery] (15/11/2017)
* El Evangelio según Van Hutten (see above)

(Need to finish these 3 books to finish challenge)
 1. Beaton, M.C. | Death of a Gossip
 2. Levine, Gail Carson | Ever
 3. Hanff, Helene | 84, Charing Cross Road
Secondary: Scattershelves
(Also needing to read these books for challenges for other groups)
1. However Long the Night: Molly Melching's Journey to Help Millions of African Women and Girls Triumph | Aimee Molloy
November - F shelf - Feminism
2. Before the Fall | Noah Hawley
October - T shelf - Thriller
3. The Bad Beginning | Lemony Snicket
October - D shelf - Dark
4. The Forests of Silence | Emily Rodda
November - D shelf - Deltora
5. Mister Monday | Garth Nix
November - J shelf - Juvenile
6. Daughter of the Forest | Juliet Marillier
September - S shelf - Sevenwaters
7. Half Broke Horses | Jeannette Walls
December - R shelf - Ranches

I will be focusing on reading the following books that have been languishing on my 'currently reading' list:
Giovanni's Room by James Baldwin
Midnight's Children by Salman Rushdie
Salambo by Gustave Flaubert
- I have not been in a mood for more 'meaty' books lately.
I will add if I can:
Rise of Empire by Michael J Sullivan
Silence by Shusaku Endo
The Motorcycle Diaries: Notes on a Latin American Journey by Ernesto Che Guevarra
Very unlikely I 'll finish all of those but I'll get my thumbs into it. :D

I've created a ticker for our goal of 10,000 pages (see message 2) :)
So please update this thread as you finish your book with the page numbers during the read-a-thon week so I can accordingly update the ticker!! I'm getting very very excited, peeps!

Ohh I'm so sorry! My bad :( What a fool am I!
It's staring to look like I'll be checking into the hospital to be induced on the first day of this read-a-thon. I probably won't be getting much reading done next week, but I'll post whatever I do manage.

Sending positive thoughts for a healthy baby :)

Me, too, Ashley. Do you know if it will be a boy or girl or will it be a surprise?

Thanks for the positive thoughts! We're having a boy.
Ooh, best of luck, Ashley!!
They say, sometimes it takes ages for the drugs to work so you just may have some time to read ;)
Though I doubt you'd have time to update us afterwards, lol
But when you do have a spare minute, please let us know how you go! Best times ahead xx

What, no reading whist in the midst of an induced labour ;)?
All the best!

Aw sorry to hear about your slump, Wendy. It's the pits when you just can't seem to enjoy your reads, isn't it? Which book are you in the middle of? Maybe it's time to set it aside for a while and get stuck to something you love either your usual fave reads or a re-read of old faves...

(wherever you are)
GOALS:
1. Create your own reading challenge focus (ie. pick a challenge to focus on for this readathon - preferably a PAS one)
2. Team goal of 10,000 pages*
*I just pick this round random number off the air... it sounds good anyway & there's no pressure, just to see how we go as a team :)
Additional Notes:
a. You can start readathon from the middle of a book you're reading; just count the pages you read during the readathon's timeframe for the page count. If you didn't finish reading at the end of the week, same applies (count pages you read during the week)
b. Social Media? Let's tag it #PASreadathon17
