There are so many things I'd forgotten about! Filch's squib status and Sir Nick's death day party were things left out of the movie. The older I get, the more I understand Filch. Loves animals more than human contact, grumpy when people walk through and mess up what you just cleaned up, a general grumpy disposition 😂

Snape's thinly veiled sarcastic remarks while dueling Lockhart is hilarious. Honestly, we probs would have been BFF status in school together; I love sarcastic quips. I also love how Dumbledore is like, "whatevs, man, these 12 year olds got this".

Dobby is free!! I love this house elf so much! He's such a cutie. I love how, in the book, Dumbeldore points out that Ginny had been targeted since her dad's muggle laws would have been ill received by the ministry - very realistic (unfortunately) with how adults will sometimes go to any means necessary for political gain.

Chapter 14 - Wow, I would think Sirius would be more mature than that� Can't he understand that Harry wants to keep him safe?

Chapter 18 - The Room of Requirement is really cool. I'm glad the D.A. found a place that they can practice their Defense Against the Dark Arts spells. I like that all of these students are defying Umbridge. She is honestly worse than Snape! I actually wish Voldemort would make a public appearance to show everyone that Harry and Dumbledore are right.

Chapter 21
I still can't believe Umbridge banned Harry, Fred and George from playing Quidditch for life! What a foul woman! I am trying to recall what happens to her in this book, but I can't remember. Hopefully, she will have to deal with the repercussions of her behavior and actions. (hide spoiler)]

25% (view spoiler)[Ron's lapse of judgement with the car gets me every time. I know a lot of people don't like Chamber of Secrets (based on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ reviews), but I really do. And even though I thought I'd read the books too many times to notice anything new, I realized for the first time today that all the objects described in Borgin & Burke's are the exact things Draco uses in . Amazing what foreshadowing you never thought to look for. (hide spoiler)]

50% (view spoiler)[The Bludger chapter was one of my favorites to write for my fanfiction. I don't even know why I like this scene so much, but I might just have to reread it on audio later so I can hear Lockhart being an idiot and everything. (I read it just now in text format - I'm constantly switching between them).

Chamber of Secrets is probably my favorite movie even if not my favorite book, and I think part of it is that scenes like this are so well executed. (hide spoiler)]

Finished! (view spoiler)[I don't know where I would rank this installment among my favorite Harry Potter books. I've read a lot of reviews where people said this one was their least favorite, and I definitely don't think that. That would probably be Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. I really do like the continuation of the world building that goes on in this installment. It's really interesting to see the growth in Harry, Ron, and Hermione from the first book. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 22 - Arthur Weasley was really lucky that Harry had a dream that night about his attack! He probably wouldn't be alive otherwise. I wonder why Harry had that dream, though. Through the eyes of the snake too!

Chapter 23 - That is so sad about Neville's parents. I think we often forget that he, like Harry, has also gone through tragic events.

Chapter 25- Harry and Cho's date was so awkward� They have no chemistry, whatsoever. Also, she seems insanely jealous of his friendship with Hermione, which is kind of insecure of her.

Chapter 28 - Wow, that must be difficult to learn that you deceased father was actually a bully when he was young. Harry often imagined his parents both in a good light, but they might not have been as perfect as he imagined. That would be a tough realization. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 33 - Maybe Voldemort now knows Harry can see through his eyes and is using that to trick Harry into thinking he has Sirius.

Chapter 35 - Oh my gosh, this chapter was so exciting! I like seeing how the spells they have learned in class are paying off in the real world against the Death Eaters. However, the way that chapter ended with Sirius falling through the weird arched doorway :'(

Chapter 37 - It is crazy to think that one different decision could've made Neville the Chosen one instead of Harry. However, Voldemort probably would've always tried to kill Harry instead, so maybe it never would've been Neville. Also, it is finally revealed why Harry lives with the Dursleys! Obviously Petunia has to care somewhat since she agreed to take Harry in. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 1 - I guess it totally makes sense to tell the Muggle world's Prime Minister about the Wizarding World, since events can sometimes cross over. I just never thought about it since the magical world seems so secretive.

Chapter 6 - I kind of wish Harry would be more mature and not give in to the Malfoys' teasing, but then again, I always forget how young he is. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 10 - What is going on with Dumbledore's hand, and why won't he tell Harry about it? Also, I like learning about Voldemort's past. It paints a picture of how he perhaps developed into his current self.

Chapter 12 - Harry is making me cringe with his constant finger pointing at Malfoy. Even if Malfoy is behind the necklace and has joined the Death Eaters, Harry should wait until he has actual proof. No one is going to believe him otherwise.

Chapter 16 - I can't believe Percy still hasn't really made up with his family for being so incredibly wrong. Some of the bad guys in this book I love to hate, but I just don't like Percy. He was so overconfident in the Ministry in the last book. Now that he has learned that he was wrong, he needs to actually own up to his mistake! (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 17 - I really enjoy learning about Voldemort's past. I wonder if his mother took care of him if he would be different or if he was always destined down this path.

Chapter 18 - Love potions are no joke! How can those not be illegal? That is really dangerous and I feel like it is too similar to mind control.

Chapter 19 - How can Harry trust Kreacher after what happened with Sirius? I would never ask him to do anything because he would try his best to find a loophole and backstab me! (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 24 - I feel like Harry's sudden feelings for Ginny are a little random at this point in the series. However, I think his interest in her is kind of cute. It is only a little weird because Ginny had a huge crush on him when she was younger.

Chapter 25 - Well, that is definitely a justified reason for Harry to hate Snape. Before his feelings were just based off Snape's actions, but learning that he was the one who tipped of Voldemort about the prophecy� I can understand Harry's anger.

Chapter 27 - It has been a really long time since I have read this series, so I can't remember all of the details. This chapter still destroys me, though. You keep hoping that Snape isn't the bad guy, but this chapter is confirms Harry's thoughts. Even if this whole thing isn't as it seems, Snape was the one who set everything in motion by telling Voldemort about the prophecy. Dumbledore dying just seems so unreal, though. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 3 - I am not sure how I feel about Dudley when he was worried about where Harry was going to go and that he was afraid to be away from Harry since he saved his life (err soul). I guess it is better than nothing and more than Harry's aunt or uncle gave him. Still, at least Dudley realizes what his cousin did for him even though he tormented Harry for years.

Chapter 5 - I honestly never finished this book because I was so distraught about Hedwig dying when I attempted to read this when I was younger. While I am still sad about her (and Mad-Eye's!!) death, I will be finally finishing this series!

Chapter 7 - Ah it is so unfair that Harry and Ginny can't be together due to the whole Voldemort trying to kill Harry thing :(

Chapter 9 - How did the Death Eaters get to the Ministry and through the protective barriers at the Burrow?! I am glad everyone from the wedding party is safe! (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 1 and 2 (view spoiler)[ This is where you start to see a change in Harry's personality. You see it a bit on 4 but 5 is where there is a huge change. Seeing Cedric die and feeling like it's his fault really changed Harry. He is angrier now. (hide spoiler)]

Omg yes, the audios are great. I’ve done reading physical books, listening to audio, and reading while I listen to audio. I just alternate whatever I’m in the mood for each time I do a reread lol

I'm still only about 3 chapters into the 5th book. Slow listening this month.

Chapter 10 - I wonder why Regulus changed his mind and decided to try and destroy one of Voldemort's horcruxes?

Chapter 13 - Umbridge is so terrible! I can't believe she is doing this hunt of Muggleborn witches and wizards. It is absolutely awful! I hope she gets what she deserves in the end!

Chapter 15 - Why does Ron occasionally have to be like that? He can really be insufferable at times. I wish he didn't leave his friends. I thought he knew what he was signing up for when he left with them to find the Horcruxes, but instead he comes off as spoiled.

Chapter 17 - Ugh the whole snake inside of Bathilda and using her as a puppet was revolting and creepy! (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 21 - Ah I was wondering why Mr. Lovegood was acting so cagey. Does the corrupt Ministry really have Luna? :(

Chapter 23 - I forgot that Dobby died and I'm just as shocked as I was while watching the movie. I'm sad now�

Chapter 26 - I don't really like Griphook� However, this chapter was really exciting! I think Gringotts regrets getting a dragon as a form of protection now! (hide spoiler)]

Chapters 29-Epilogue (view spoiler)[
Chapter 29 - Wow, when did Neville become so badass? He doesn't seem to be afraid of anything anymore. He used to be nervous to voice his opinion, and now he is talking back (rightly so) to professors!

Chapter 30 - I still don't like or forgive Percy, but at least he admitted his mistake and apologized to his family. He is one of the worst characters in the series.

Chapter 32 - Fred and George weren't in the forefront of this novel, but they made enough of an appearance that the death of Fred is still slightly emotional. Especially because they were twins and were always together. Also, finding out about Tonks and Remus was also devastating since they had just had a child together� Ugh, my heart!

Chapter 33 - Snape's death (and life) was kind of tragic when you get his background story and how much he loved Lily Potter. All that he was willing to do for her and even for Harry. He never was an extremely kind character, but that might have been because of his turbulent home life. I guess his relationship with his father explains why he showed contempt towards Muggles. Still no excuse. I wish Rowling had made this whole thing between Snape and Lily a bit more in depth than she did. It seemed a bit rushed, which made it less impactful.

Chapter 35 - Wow that chapter had a lot in it. This book has provided so much background information to earlier and current events.

Chapter 36 - OMG that was an amazing end to Voldemort and this series. I loved the action involved in the battle, and the real reason why Harry beat Voldemort. (hide spoiler)]

Ch 6: (view spoiler)[I'm wondering if family members have ever been put into a different house before? I'm not talking cousins or anything.. because I could see that happening.. but like two brothers are in different houses..

Ch 9: (view spoiler)[Interesting how we meet Peeves in the book but not in the movies. Although I guess that's okay because he does seem to be pretty annoying. Also, not sure why Harry would ever trust Malfoy to begin with... but I guess it's just another lesson to learn for him. (hide spoiler)]

Ch 12: (view spoiler)[OMG the socks comment! It's so true. I absolutely love getting socks for Christmas. They are excellent stocking stuffers if I do say so myself. It's been forever since I've read these books. I remember buying Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince on my first trip to England and dragging the giant book home in my suitcase. I hope it's as magical now.
