Nikki ~ The Nocturnal Bookworm (nyxreadsstuff) ~Questions & Answers~

Does it matter if the book goes past it's original category before I finish the challenge?

No, whatever the number of ratings was when you started the book is what is used to determine it's category.

If I've filled in all of the books for the less than 100 ratings category, and I read a book with 72 ratings, can I use that in the less than 500 category?

Yes, you can.

I read a book with only 5 ratings (average rating 2.83) because it worked for one of my challenges. I rated it 2 stars, so it doesn't really qualify as a "gem". May I count it anyway, based on the number of the ratings it has, or do we need to count only books which rate higher?

It's up to you if you want to include them. True the challenge is to try and find ones you enjoy, but trying out lesser known books is also one of the points :)
