Introduction: February is here! More winter, Valentine's Day, Black History Month, and many other fun events--hopefully some reading too!

Rules:


1. Any DHASG member can participate in the challenge.
2. Books must be read between February 1st and February 28th.
3. A book may only be used once in the challenge.
4. Please sign up and list your stats or link to the completed stats listing when you finish the challenge.
5. In your stats, include book title, author, date read, and how it represents the specific part of the challenge.
6. Enjoy and happy reading!

Levels:

1. Hearts on Fire: Read 8-12 books.
2. Heart's Full: Read 5-7 books.
3. Heart to Heart: Read 3-4 books.

Categories:

1. Black History Month: February is Black History Month. Help celebrate the legacy of black Americans by reading a book that focuses on black history, events that have been pivotal in the ongoing story of black Americans, or even with central black characters living their lives.
2.Be My Valentine: In honor of Valentine's Day, read a book where a lead character loves another and makes a very notable gesture of their love, be it a declaration, a love letter, or action.
3.Love is Never Boring: February is Creative Romance Month. Read a book that features a unique, different, distinctive, or creative romance, either in writing, type of characters or storyline.
4.An Affair to Remember: February is An Affair to Remember Month. Read a book that has a romantic affair or relationship that is one of the most memorable ones you've read. You can certainly do a reread for this.
5.Flirting: For International Flirting Week, the third week of February, let's read a book that has some expert level flirting.
6.Make a Friend Day: For Make a Friend Day on February 11th, showcase friendship by reading a story that features a strong friendship that develops over the course of the story.
7.Invention is 93% Perspiration: National Inventor's Day is February 11th. For this day, read a book about an inventor, a significant invention, or featuring a lead character who is an inventor.
8.The Name Changer is the Game Changer: For Get a Different Name Day on February 13th, You can choose any book that includes a character who has altered their name in any way from the one they were born with, either legally, undercover, going by a nickname, etc.
9.SAD, or Single Awareness Day: SAD takes place on the day after Valentine's Day, February 15th. Even though the initials spell out SAD, you don't have to be sad because you're single. Read a book with a character who is previously single and loving it, either throughout the book, or prior to the climax of the romance story.
11.Cheer Up A Grouch: For Do a Grouch a Favor Day on February 16th, the day is set aside to help out a grouch by doing something to cheer them up. Read a book where a prominent character helps cheer up the grouch in their life, or you could even do yourself a favor. If you're feeling grouchy, read a book that cheers you up.
12.Valentine's Bouquet: Pick a flower out of the bouquet, just for the holiday. Read a book for one of the following holidays: Ash Wednesday, Chinese New Year, National Drink Wine Day, Love Your Pet Day, Be Humble Day, Mardi Gras.
