Literary Ames (amyorames) | 1854 comments I've bought my ticket to WorldCon. That's why I've just added 70 books (if you count the 14 books in The Wheel of Time omnibus) to my GR shelves - all e-freebies related to the Hugo Awards! Buying just half of those (the ones over 240 pages) would've cost more than the ticket.

Geekfest looked awesome but I couldn't justify the travel time to the awkward location (near Heathrow airport).

Steph (angel4492) | 32311 comments Makes sense. Let us know how WorldCon goes. We missed ComicCon in San Diego again! Super bummed because this year we would've been able to go. I've set an early reminder for next year in case we're still in the area.

Judithe | 6566 comments Oh...I was given the Wheel of Time series and haven't read it yet...hardback. (Oops...need to add to TBR! Otherwise I'll never get to it. I tend to check my list on GR, then go find the book...which leads me to overlooking that row of HBs...which actually baffles me when I consider it!)

And...how WAS WorldCon??

Literary Ames (amyorames) | 1854 comments I had a great time! I saw lots of authors at the panels I attended like Kelley Armstrong, Carrie Vaughn, a very well dressed Gail Carriger, Suzanne McLeod, Tanya Huff, Seanan McGuire, Patrick Rothfuss (who had a rockin' beard), Simon R Green, Joe Abercrombie who had swoon-worthy biceps, Peter F Hamilton, Cory Doctorow, Karen Miller, Kate Elliott, Liesel Schwarz, Robin Hobb, Leigh Bardugo, Sarah J Maas, Todd McCaffrey (Anne's son), Sarah Rees Brennan, Laura Lam, Audrey Niffenegger and many others.

There were lots of people I've never heard of that I'm eager to find out more about.

Here are some of my write ups, mostly on the panels I attended:

(Orphan Black)

I still have a handful to post which when I post them can be found .

Sandra | 25758 comments Wow is right! Way to go Ames!!!!

You've put a lot of work into the Con and you were just an attendee. Amazed and delighted :))))

I'll be reading the posts at my leisure as well, thanks Ames.
