Hello, everyone!

It's a new month, so it's time for a new picture book! Rora will be leading our discussion of Make Way for Ducklings. I hope you'll join her.

As always, you don't need to read the exact version shown here.

Enjoy! I'll turn it over to Rora now.

Rora (ffyreflyy) | 6 comments Make Way for Ducklings is a children's picture book written and illustrated by Robert McCloskey published in 1941. It won the 1942 Caldecott Medal. As of 2003, the book had sold over two million copies. (That's the most recent concrete number I can find.) The book's popularity led to the construction of a statue by Nancy Schön in the Boston Public Garden (where the book is set) of the mother duck and her eight ducklings, which is a popular destination for children and adults alike.

So guys, what do you think about the book?

I have been to the park where the statue is. When on one of the tours in Boston they mentioned that at times one of the ducklings has been stolen a few times

Teresa | 24 comments I loved sharing this book with my kids. I am from Massachusetts. I remember reading the book as a kid, repeatedly. it led to a lengthy conversation with them about Boston. it was nice.
