Kady, Ezra, Hanna, and Nik narrowly escaped with their lives from the attacks on Heimdall station and now find themselves crammed with 2,000 refugees on the container ship, Mao. With the jump station destroyed and their resources scarce, the only option is to return to Kerenza—but who knows what they'll find seven months after the invasion?

Meanwhile, Kady's cousin, Asha, survived the initial BeiTech assault and has joined Kerenza's ragtag underground resistance. When Rhys—an old flame from Asha's past—reappears on Kerenza, the two find themselves on opposite sides of the conflict.

Sierra, I've got my copy but I didn't get as much done over the weekend as I hoped. I want to finish up a couple of other books, then dive into this one. Should only be a couple of days.

Ch 7 - (view spoiler)[ Um, is anyone else wondering when the other shoe is going to drop for these characters? In the previous books, there was always a 3rd factor that was just totally crazy that they had to deal with - book 1, crazy AI and virus zombies, book 2 - those drug secreting vipers, then time copies. So what's it going to be here? Usually, by now we have a clue and so far this plot is pretty vanilla. (hide spoiler)]
Finished - hmm.....(view spoiler)[ I liked it but I feel like it was missing so much. We never did get that off-the-wall issue to deal with as I mentioned in my comment for Ch 7. We also never learned anything new about Leeann. I expected backstory for her and how she turned evil. I was also a little surprised about the anticlimax. Yay! They won their case and supposedly Baitech is going to be punished, but I was expecting more due to that tidbit at the end of book 1 where Kady says that she still has Aiden and "he is angry". I thought for sure Aiden would infiltrate all of Baitech's computers somehow and rain down massive destruction on the company or something. Oh well. I still liked it, it just wasn't as good or exciting as the previous two books. (hide spoiler)]

Pretty much what I have gotten so far from this series is that every adult is bad. They are either literally the bad guys or they don't listen to the MCs even when they have reasoning behind why they should do something. Hanna and Nik literally saved the universe in the last book and no adult is taking that into consideration. They just treat them like children. Haven't they proven themselves to be resourceful? Obviously I want the survivors of the Kerenza colony to win, but there are some characters on Lindstrom's squad that seem okay. I was actually a little sad when Duke died. There are the actual bad guys who enjoy killing the colonists, but there are others that follow orders because they don't know any other way. That doesn't make it right, but it makes the death seem more tragic, I suppose. (hide spoiler)]

I have finally gotten used to the format in this series. There were still times when I found it hard to follow, but I grew to kind of like the variation in writing. I think Kaufman does a great job creating characters because there really wasn't any I disliked reading about. Both the good guys/gals and the bad guys/gals were written well. Although I found this book to maybe be my least favorite of the three, I still enjoyed it. 3.5/5 (rounded down to 3). (hide spoiler)]

RESTARTING NOVEMBER 7TH, 2019

I am currently 104 pages into this book and it is just as good if not better than the other two. I still like the other characters Kady Ezra and the rest but I also like the new characters Asha and Rhys. The other characters are still very interesting trying to save people. I like Asha and Rhys so far with Asha being angry because of Biotech and Rhys not really knowing what happened. I really like the plot so far even if not much has happened first we catch up with the characters from the other books and them meeting up with the other ship and then we find out a character that was thought dead is alive Asha she is a very interesting character. So overall I really like this book.

I am 203 pages into this book and it just getting better I like that is shows just how grief affects many different people including the main characters. I still really like the characters the one from the previous books get expanded on and I am really liking Asha and Rhys who really does not know much about what happened, They are all very complex characters the more I read just uncovers more and more about them all. I really like the plot so far so we catch back up with Kady and the rest they are trying to find ways to make where they are work and with Asha and Rhys you can tell Rhys really did not know what happened and of course Asha is angry because of what happened we go back to the other characters and their lives after losing people they cared about before. So overall I am really liking this book.

I am 313 pages into this book the story still just keeps getting better also things are getting much worse for the characters of the story. I love the characters still things keep getting worse for many of the characters horrible things have happened and you can really see how thins has changed the characters in many ways. I still love the story it just gets more and more compelling the further I get into it. The things that have happened so far the story is progressing on with how horrible Beitech is and how AIDAN can't be trusted. So overall I am really enjoying the story.

I am 405 pages into this book and the plot is really ramping up at this point I am really enjoying it. I love the characters so much they have been developed so much the first 4 main characters Hanna,Nik,Kady,Ezra have come so far they have fought so much to get where they need to be and save Kerenza and expose Beitech for what it is an hostile invasion force with a bunch of murders. Now on to Asha and Rhys they are steadily getting a little closer Asha is really starting to trust him. I really enjoying the plot it is thrilling one thing after another is happening first Asha and Rhys meet again some things happening so she is thinking she can trust him a really horrible thing happens with Kady and the rest it is resolved and they go back to trying their hardest to finally be able to take Beitech down.

I am 504 pages into this book and it really getting to the best part and the action packed part is now beginning. I love the characters so much more now Kady,Ezra,Hanna,Nik and Ella they have come a long where from where they were Kady and Ezra are such a amzing couple there is not a better love than the ones showcased by then same with Hanna and Nik. I really love Ella she is such a strong girl even with having all of her disabilities she is a sarcastic and really funny girl I really love her character so much. I also love Asha and Rhys they have finally reconnected and they definitely have very strong feelings for each other they are such great characters. I am really loving the plot of this book the attack of Beitech has started the fierce love the characters have for each other is shown things happen with Asha and Rhys and we are back to Ezra and the rest fighting Beitech. So far I love this book will finish it soon.

I have finished this book it was the best out of the whole trilogy one of the best finale's to a series I have ever read. I loved all of the characters especially the seven characters that brought the end of Beitech Kady,Ezra,Hanna,Nik,Ella,Asha and Rhys they all went through so much but came out stronger as a result. I loved how it ended there could not of been a better happy ending than the one that was given to us. So overall this was the best of the trilogy and I would definitely read more books like this.
