Looking through my list, I realized I have three books by Fredrik Backman. I'm going to get rid of at least one of them, if not two.

I would definitely skip Grandmother Asked Me... and if you are wanting to throw out two, Britt-Marie was just ok. My favorites by him are (by far) A Man Called Ove and Beartown, and that seems to be the general consensus with people I talk to.
This is a GREAT LIST. We seem to have very similar reading tastes! Harold Fry is one of my all time favorites. Quiet was my favorite nonfiction book of this year. Astonishing Color of After was one of my favorite YA books of the year (and that's really saying something!). I read An American Marriage back in February and I'm still thinking about it.

There are also a bunch that I've read and loved so I think you're in for some great reads!
To replace one of the Backmans, if you haven't already read it, perhaps check out Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine.

I read Eleanor Oliphant last month, & it is one of my favorites of the year. I adored it!

hahahahaha , so very true.....
Now I feel compelled to put my list up in a thread, I might start working on that now? My daughter (8) is at her first official sleepover, so I'm tired but I kinda don't want to go to sleep because maybe she'll want me to pick her up at 2 am....
or probably mommy will want to go pick her up at 2 am 😩

After going through the list again, I was able to cross off an additional 9 since the last time I updated it, so that feels pretty good. I'm tempted to change out some of the books for more recent ones I would like to read. Not sure if I should just add to my list or allow myself to change out no more than 3 books a year? Or maybe I can only take the book off the list & exchange it for a new one if I decide to completely cross it off my tbr . . . . That probably makes the most sense.

The Moonstone
The Secret Garden
The One-in-a-Million Boy
The Hike
The Nature Fix: Why Nature Makes Us Happier, Healthier, and More Creative
Strange the Dreamer
Educated
Spinning Silver
Just popped by to say that this is still an amazing list lol.
For my 40 before 40 list, I have a list of alternates, so if I hate a book, I can DNF it and put in an alternate without feeling like I was cheating.
(I mean, I make the rules! Why should I feel guilty about cheating? But here I am...)
