Thanks to Sassafras for picking September's shelf Police Procedurat. For those of us doing the series challenge, this will be a good category as there are a lot of series that fit the description.

Hope you all find some good books to read!

i plan to read some of the books on this shelf. not sure if I will get to them in time for sept but worth the challenge.

Great shelf! I think I will read Jar City, which has been sitting on my shelves for a long time.

I plan to read The Crossing Places by Elly Griffiths.

I also have some others on my TBR, including another one of hers, a Louise Penny, and a Michael Connelly.

Oh, I have several planned for my challenges!

I'm so glad that people are finding lots to read for this one.

I think I'll likely get back to trying to tackle the In Death Series. It seems like that series is never ending.

I'll try to get at least two of them down next month so it will be Missing in Death and Fantasy in Death for sure and maybe Indulgence in Death if I have time.

Also, I'm also thinking about starting the Women's Murder Club series. We'll see how the timing goes

Many people have told me that this series is REALLY good. I plan to start it soon, too, but not sure if it will be this month or not.

I tried The Crossing Places and ehhh...i'm not a fan of first person narration for mystery - tried both reading and audio

I have 2 in death books on my pile for next month - so hopefully they show up on the list - i'm almost through the 30's...but i'm sure she'll have like another 5 books published before I finish the series

I have Force of Nature at home for a group read already, so probably that one. Otherwise I might read the next one in the Tana French Series--I've read 3 or 4 of them so far. However, this really isn't something I read much of.

Think I'll read The Devil's Star by Jo Nesbø. It's been a while since I read the one before it. I might read The Missing and the Dead by Stuart MacBride too.

I have to come up with something else. I started Force of Nature but do NOT like it and have discarded it. I'm not sure if I'm up to a Tana French novel after my summer reading.

BUT, I noticed that Men at Arms is a police procedural--I'll have to see if the next book has been shelved that way.

ETA YES! 3 people have shelved Feet of Clay as police procedural. I can probably handle that book (we'll see--I can only enjoy so much Pratchett in a row).

@karin - just remember that this is September's shelf - so you have a little bit of a time to still look/plan

I haven't been doing this for a while, so I'm jumping back in with police procedurals (a fave!). Putting these three on my list to start with, they are the next in series I really like:

The Waters of Eternal Youth (Comissario Brunetti #25)
The Woman in Blue (Ruth Galloway #8)

That's a very good series! I like them ... that reminds me I need to see which one I need to read next :)

I found 5 I'd like to read in the first 5 pages. Not sure which to choose -- I'll request a few from the library, and then see how they look.

But of course. However, given that September is not only a busy month of transition around here and that I have a three month challenge to figure out as well as various and sundry other things (plus the series challenge here at pick a shelf), I prefer to get somethings figured out quickly with books I already have in my library pile here at home :).

I'm not sure if it's on this list or not, but I've been meaning to read The Insider by Reece Hirsch. But I also want to read The Girl in the Ice. That sounded really good and I enjoy finding female detective series.

I plan to reread Naked in Death and In the Woods so that I can continue on in both these series.

This month I am going to be reading Along Came a Spider, which I've been meaning to get to forever but keep putting off because James Patterson tends to be super hit or miss with me. I'll love it or hate it.

I plan to read The Dry The Dry by Jane Harper but currently am reading a Jack Reacher Novel. Not to sure if that series also falls under Police Procedural. Both are about crimes and mysteries.

True, but I find it helps to look ahead. I am now reading Feet of Clay and it totally fits even if it is Terry Pratchett and set on Discworld :)

I am a little late, but I just so happened to be in the possession of In the Woods and saw that it is in this shelf! So excited!

I am now reading the book The Dry from the shelf. I seriously hope it is a good book
