Or when sometimes I don't feel like writing a lot or have alot to say about the book, I just write a paragraph. Would those reviews count too?

I was kind of leaving it open for interpretation/adaptation. The spirit of it is to encourage people to get their thoughts out there.
I also only write a paragraph for a good chunk of my reviews because they usually don’t warrant more than that lol.

Weird question... this doesn't seem like a challenge we should be able to use for bonus points...
What do you guys think?...
Technically, the challenge is about the reviews, and not the books themselves... otherwise, any book you review within 7 days of finishing qualifies, right?
I'm thinking about signing up, just to give myself a reason to review on time (without the competition aspect)...

I agree completely. I was actually thinking about that and this challenge will be the exception.
I need desperate help reviewing on time. For someone who considers herself a “professional reviewer, I kind of suck at it lol.

I'm nowhere near a professional reviewer... but I get lazy about rating/reviewing things, because I read so fast, and just want to keep reading the next book instead of keeping up with my reading pace on ŷ upkeep... but then I let 100+ book backlog pile up, and I barely remember what I should be rating things at, when I get around to it...

Yea... this challenge rewards punctuality, and punishes procrastination :)

Not lost forever - as soon as you Review it it bumps your percentage back up. The one week thing was to make it so that you don’t have to adjust your ratios every time you finish a book. Say you’re at 100% - you should’nt have to take a hit just for finishing a book if you’re going to review it in a timely manner. If all that makes sense lol.

Yeah your speed of completion would make reviewing such a headache. I also have the tendency to dive right into the next book rather than taking time to review them first. Maybe your challenge adaptation should just be “get them rated haha.

Oh... I tend to catch up before the end of each year, challenge or no challenge... since I use the ŷ Reading Challenge/Goal tracker... so unless I set the date range to end before December 31st, 2019, there's no way I won't end up at 100% eventually...

That's probably what I'm going to do... rating is most important to me... I comment in the review area when I have something to say...

Makes sense for sure.
Makes sense for sure.

I was worried I’d never get my % age back up.

That’s impressive that you both do that. Trying to zero out at the end of the year would take me forever.

Quarterly seems like a good place to start. Personally I think I’m going for a monthly zero out.

I'll make my thread here instead and will start fresh in 2019. Till then I have so many RTCs to catch up with and it's a pain in the butt to do it so late, after such a long time has passed from the actual read.
Do we post the reviews even as comments on our threads or just the links?

If I had a dime for every review of mine that still says "RTC" ... sigh lol. And sweet! I'm glad the challenge came around at a good time.
I plan to post reviews in the comments. Heck, I may even draft a few in there so it's easy for me to find.

I read enough that good reviews for everything would be impossible and I'm just trying to do pros and cons for books instead. Hope that counts.

Yes, it counts. Anything that qualifies as a review for you. The point is to get us writing more. :)
Keep in mind that this challenge doesn’t count towards the team reading competition.

Keep in mind that this challenge doesn’t count towards the team reading competition.
Do you have a To-Be-Reviewed pile that is starting to compete with the size of your To-Be-Read pile? If so, the TBReviewed Challenge might be the one for you!
The goal of this challenge is to increase the frequency which you organize your thoughts into reviews and publish them here on ŷ.
Here’s how it works:
1. Pick a date range.
2. Write reviews for every book you read within your chosen date range (you’ll have one week after finishing a book to get the review published before it counts against your percentage) UPDATE: I changed mine to one month after completion to review - feel free to modify it to fit your needs).
3. Earn (or lose ;P) achievement badges as you go.
Achievement "Badges" will be granted based on total percentage of books reviewed vs. read:
You’ll change your title to reflect your current reviewing status. For example: Niki’s TBReviewed Challenge [Average Reviewer]
Nik’s notes: I used this as a baseline to get into the habit of reviewing, then modified the challenge to suit my needs from there.
Good luck, and have fun! :D
