Libby I want to know if this author is semi-clean or not?

Cedric I didn’t think was scary.

Piper Tallis I wouldn't say scary. I enjoyed the whole series. I would say though, that I think this series is perhaps more emotionally heavy than some of his other books. As far as the author being "semi-clean" I'm guessing you're asking about sexuality. There's no sex between the main character & his girlfriend, but that's there's a weighty emotional reason behind that celibacy. If you're thinking of a young teen, I would probably suggest some of his other books as opposed to this series. Any older teen or adult would be fine.

K the Vampire Slayer I wouldn't consider it scary, more like creepy? A little eerie. But not gory or anything like that. But the motives and some things they find in the book are kind of sick... There's quite a bit of more mature content near the end, and it deals with some heavy and emotional topics like Piper already said behind a few different things like a character's celibacy, (like emotional abuse and implied physical abuse). The second book in the series is very sexual in nature (but there was no actual sex). I think it's okay for older teens and up if you're okay with that type of stuff. I found some of it uncomfortable, but those aren't the main focus of the plot and I find the writing and writing style very beautiful and the voice/character/idea interesting. So semi clean... um, probably not... semi semi clean... maybe?

Michael Prentice "Odd Thomas" is not a scary series. It is more ominous and foreboding in its overall style. Hard to know what you mean by semi-clean. If you're asking what kind of boundaries Koontz sets in his writing, I would say he's semi-clean - people sometimes get seriously hurt or killed, but never children or animals. It's also never gory, and death is only used for plot (it's never just for the hell of it, there is a point).

I would definitely say semi clean. Odd Thomas has little to no sex in it, some violence, some swearing, some adult situations. It's definitely an older teen/adult book. This series is more suspenseful than gory although there are some murders.

Libby Thank you all for your advice. Semi clean means cussing words!

Rosalie Miles I thought Odd Thomas was a super dry funny guy. I loved it! not thriller terrifying, but good!

Michael Mayer III Odd Thomas is an awesome book that is definitely one to make your skin crawl at points and it has some pretty emotional moments as others have said. I don't recall there being a lot of swearing either. I think it's one of Koontz's cleaner books in that regard.

Highweirdness No, I don't think the point of this book is to be scary - that is, it's not written like there's a big bad boogeymonster waiting to jump out and get you. But I think it is written as more of a supernatural adventure yarn - a view into the head of the character of Odd Thomas as he secretly protects us from the things only he can see.

AJ Garcia It's more 'heart' than 'nerves'.

Lorna Smart Wordcrafter I would't say scary but unnerving in places. It certainly has an atmosphere that can be creepy at times.
