Ben Stearns | 1 comments I am looking for a patient editor to look over, DRUNK, my 72k word noir tinged-literary fiction novel before I self-publish.

The manuscript is in its 5th and final draft so the editing duties should be light. I had it edited around draft 3 but then I decide to tweak some things and probably created a bunch more errors. You would be mainly looking at these tweaks (which were minimal) and going over the work of the previous editor because, let's be honest, I've never met an editor who looked at someone else's work and said, "Yeah, you got it 100% right."

I am looking for someone with some experience but would be happy to discuss the position with all interested because everyone gets a start somewhere. I've posted this on a few places and I plan to review proposals in about a week.

Before hiring, I would ask that you try your hand at a 500 word sample from somewhere in the middle of the book to see if our styles mesh.

My budget is somewhere around/under $500 depending on qualifications and how well we mesh.

Thanks for checking this out and please let me know if you have any questions.

I would love to work with you on this project! Noir is one of my favorite genres and I'm currently writing one myself, so I think I'd be a great fit! Feel free to send me a sample at [email protected]. I've been editing and proofreading for over ten years and have a master's degree in Professional Writing from USC, and you can read author testimonials at my website:
