Personally I like auto-hagiographies much better than hagiographies written by other authors. I find the saints nearer if they themselves speak, than if they are spoken about. Some of the things they say can be directly applicable to me.

Her path and christian life was indeed as a soft breeze.

For me, it is simply to understand the mind of God better; His will, His desires for me.
Books by St. Catherine of Siena and St. Faustina have made a substantial impact on my life. I've read both Confessions and Story of A Soul twice. I love our saints.
We have read several auto-hagiographies in the club: St. Teresa of Ávila, St. Antonio María Claret, St. Therese de Lisieux. All of them were written as an act of obedience to their superiors, or their confessors. All of them were written for restricted use, but were soon made public for everybody. Some of them became Doctors of the Church. What good results do you think can be obtained from reading them?
