A Memory Called Empire and A Desolation Called Peace have been on my shelf for a few years now. I'm currently on chapter 7 and thoroughly enjoying this book. It seems unique in that the basis of the culture appears to be Aztec.
Really? I didn’t know. What aspect make it based on Aztec culture?
Yeah, that's a major source of appeal for me. Unluckily I couldn't fit the diptych in my schedule even if I tried...

(This doesn't seem to be a central theme in the book, more an aside, so shouldn't be spoilery.)
