Barb Bailey | 9 comments I like to add books to my to read list. Also I love to visit the library and look at the librarians pics of the month. I also browse books stores both new and used and often come home with a pile to put on my nightstand. So how do I choose what to read next. Sometimes the next book is chosen for me because I belong to book clubs and want to read the current selection. Often I check out my too read list which includes recs from other GR friends. But I'm finding that at least half the time I just browse the library shelves and come home with something that is interesting or suits my mood. Sometimes I just read for pleasure , not for a lesson, not to fill an obligation, not to decrease my TBR list or get books off my nightstand ! Let me know...how do you choose your next to read book ?

Cheryl S. | 161 comments I read the selections for my two book clubs, the recommendations I get from friends, what I find interesting on PaperBackSwap and Amazon, what I find at my local book store, and I reread books I love. In the past year or so I haven't found many good recommendations on GoodReads which makes me sad.

Lorie Kleiner Eckert (loriekleinereckert) | 4 comments I keep a list of books I hear about through friends, my kids, award winners, names on the best sellers list, etc. I am embarrassed to say that the spreadsheet I keep of such books has a column for whether or not my public library has the book in kindle format. When I finish one book, I search my spreadsheet for what to read next and its availability in digital format is what usually picks the book for me.

At age 62, I find that once I read a book, it is gone from my memory, so over the last year or so, I have made a point of writing a short review of each book on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ so that I can look back and be reminded of what the book was all about. I invite you to look over my books and reviews and see what you think.

Cathy (boxershiner) | 61 comments I too keep a spread sheet, at least of the series I read, have done that for many years but it seems I add on more than I read, can't keep ahead.

Barb Bailey | 9 comments thanks ladies, i especially like the suggestion to keep a spread sheet for series......that way I won't come home with a book I've already read ( bet we all have done that ) and know what book should e read next in the series.

Elynore (goodreadscomelynore) | 3 comments I didn't start reading books until 1998 when my life finally slowed down enough to allow me to pursue some new interests. A walked into my Church Library one Sunday, checked a book out and the rest is history, I read every day now. I'm a very organized person and soon realized this new venture needed to be organized so I began a list on the computer, it was time consuming at first but it is now 86 pages because I keep it up to date. Every Author I've ever read or hope to read is listed alphabetically by last name, I list all their books, mark in red when I read them, if their a free download I indicate that. It's also on Dropbox now thanks to a computer friend so when I make a change it updates my desk top, lap top and I-Pad.

You might want to check out fictfact.com. It's a website that lists series and you can check off books that you have read. The "next book" feature lets you know what to read next in the series. I also like that it alerts me to new books coming from my favorite authors so that I can put them on reserve at the library.
