I did see the movie, and found it a tad annoying. I didn't mind that it was a "non-traditional" zombie movie. I DID mind that the Caucasian American male ran around the world (somewhat unrealistically) saving the day, while all the people/nations of color were portrayed as superstitious and backward.
I have heard that the book is very different, and much better so I am going in as open-minded as I can be.

Dracula COMPLETED!
Interview with the Vampire
The Haunting of Hill House COMPLETED!
Hallowe'en Party COMPLETED!
When Darkness Falls: Tales of San Antonio Ghosts and Hauntings COMPLETED!
Frankenstein COMPLETED!
The Haunted Hotel COMPLETED!
The Haunted House
The Canterville Ghost
The Witches of Eastwick COMPLETED!
Mist Over Pendle
The Turn of the Screw COMPLETED!
Sounds like it, but I'm not familiar with the series. Honestly, if you think it fits the bill then use it!

Suiting the Genre/Month
The Sacrifice
Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children
A Monster Calls READ: 13.10.2014
Others:
Poison Study - READ: 03.10.2014
The Knife of Never Letting Go - READ:16.10.2014
I'm slowly working through my physical TBR stack after buying new books again last week. But I'm doing good with my little personal challenge if I'm reading those books next month :)

I cannot open these until at least three others have been finished from Septembers list. But Ooooh so tempting. :)

Dracula (Stoker)
The Invisible Man (Wells)
Doctor Sleep (King)
The readathon sounds like fun. I'll have to get a list ready for that.

Laura, I don't know if I'll be able to get to it in October, but if you're up for a buddy read of The Hot Zone at some point, I'd too be game.

I thought I was being ambitious with 3 planned books & an audiobook.
I am impressed!
I'm going to listen to Dracula, read the YA Selection, a Monster Calls?, NOS4A2 and a few others I already have waiting.
I'll be fortunate to finish 3 in a month

Miss-
I've become addicted to audio books. Using them on my commute to work has tripled the number of books I read each month. :)

Miss, I'm looking forward to Dracula too this month!
Remember this is just a list and some of these are short stories and some of it is just wishful thinking. Wish me luck.

The Book of Joe
One Last Thing Before I Go (Yes, I'm in a bit of a Tropper phase!)
The Expats - finish
The 6th Extinction
Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children Readathon
Dracula Readathon
Frankenstein Readathon
The Night Has Teeth Readathon

My list for October. Probably highly ambitious considering all the reading I have to do for University (background reading etc).
University Reading:
- Manhattan Transfer by John Dos Passos
- The Book of Illusions by Paul Auster
Horror Challenge:
- The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving - READ 2/10
- The Turn of the Screw by Henry James - READ 2/10
- Dracula by Bram Stoker
- The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde
- The Castle of Otranto by Horace Walpole
- The Bloody Chamber and Other Stories by Angela Carter
Others:
- Maurice by E. M. Forster - READ 7/10
- Gone Girl: A Novel by Gillian Flynn
I might actually attempt to find an audiobook of Dracula. I do have a few 10/15 minute walks to my lectures and seminars. Might pair it up with the actual book though.

Will do! And in turn, you must let me know what you think of The Turn of The Screw. :D I've read it, but I always like discussing it.
