This is what I got from what you wrote:
Raven becomes the master of an underworld devoted to pleasure and self-gratification (hedonist), but she was created by a nice person who sought to protect her. And then that protection becomes a person (someone) who is really, really nasty. "Her" downfall is fast. Her who? Does "her" refer to Raven or the one who protected Raven by sending her into a "dark underworld of hedonistic excess"?
Along comes someone named "Hope" who is both now and before. And Hope is not a strong person.
Raven, or the gentle woman who created Raven or Hope seem to be playing a game she wants to win, but in doing so, the people around her will have to pay something. Also people she left behind and herself.
If I read the first book, would any of that make sense?

Raven and the person who created her are one and the same.
As a sequel and follow on, it would make more sense perhaps to those reading the first book who had already met and formed opinions on the lead character, Raven.
The first book in the series, Descent Into Darkness, is going on Countdown Deal on October 2nd to coincide with the release.

Dark Days
Raven had clawed her way to the pinnacle of a dark underworld of hedonistic excess. But Raven is the creation of a gentler woman only seeking to protect a damaged soul. Twisted by power and position, that protection mutates into someone capable of cruelties that the innocent should not endure. Her downfall is swift, the aftermath one of pain, brutality and the destruction of a person struggling to survive first as her alter ego, then as the lost being beneath.
Hope comes from unexpected sources from someone from her past, and from someone very much in her present. But hope is a delicate thing.
Can she win through and if she does, at what cost to those around her, those she has left behind and most of all, to herself?
Dark Days is the second book in The Written Pictures Series by H.A. Kotys, and sequel to Descent Into Darkness
