I really enjoyed the plot of this one. The idea of the aging bachelor seeking to make good on his pledge to marry a young woman he abandoned when, though not because, she was pregnant seems a bit different enough to arouse my interest, I enjoyed the "bride's" response, the cozy town preference versus London and especially the family resemblance noticed when seasick. It was clever and even funny at times. And, while not tragic, the end still leaves the reader with a wisp of melancholy. I like how he divided these short stories into chapters for each scene.
