Maddy | 2127 comments Flagged it for GR, but we need a mod to delete it

message 152: by LaurLa (new)

LaurLa | 2335 comments FYI - The start of week two was late 10/13 for those on this side of the world and the formulas are set to read the finish dates as 10/14, so those of us who finished books on what was 10/13 for us but late enough to qualify for week 2, we were told to enter the date as 10/14 on the spreadsheet. This is what I did for Maddy and me, I think the only 2 who finished books later last night :-)

LaurLa | 2335 comments Do we think this is green enough? If so, it will probably become a Sin Bingo.

I don't think it is quite 50%. To me it reads more white.

message 156: by LaurLa (new)

LaurLa | 2335 comments It's definitely borderline, so I will say not. It works for YA, so I post for that.

message 157: by Gareless (new)

Gareless | 48 comments I have two days off starting tomorrow so I will for sure finish my book by then!

message 158: by LaurLa (new)

LaurLa | 2335 comments Ugh, why do I keep getting covers that aren't one color or another??? This one says blue to me when I glance at it but when I really look at it, it could be brown. Or just nothing :-(

I'd go more with brown, but that shadow is tricky so I don't think it has enough color.

I added it for Top Shelf. Safer that way....

I don't think it's green enough :( That border and horse are taking some green away.

Alysa H. | 3832 comments Hi Team Gluttony!

Team Ira was wondering what sin you used Save the Date for?
We can see someone on your team read it on 7 Oct but can't see the details because the spreadsheet has locked the Week 1 books out of sight.

Thank you!

Louise | 3295 comments Does this come across as brown, looks like varying shades of beige?
Mapping the Interior by Stephen Graham Jones

message 167: by Maddy (new)

Maddy | 2127 comments Definitely beige. Is beige brown? Or more on the white side?

Louise | 3295 comments Maddy wrote: "Definitely beige. Is beige brown? Or more on the white side?"

Beige is a shade of brown.

message 169: by Maddy (last edited Oct 16, 2019 01:46PM) (new)

Maddy | 2127 comments Huh. I always thought it is more like a variation of white, like pearl white and other weirdly named colors :D

Oh yeah I didn't put in a color because to me it looked white and beige but I didn't think it was enough of anything to count. Sorry if that was incorrect.

I'm still not seeing it...

message 174: by Kaley (new)

Kaley (kaleyamo) | 1913 comments Hi all!

Just wanted to give you a heads up that the next 48 hours are going to be super hectic for me so I probably will not be around much. I'm in a wedding tomorrow, so I'll be busy all day tomorrow and pretty busy this evening with getting everything I need together, the rehearsal & rehearsal dinner, and then all the bridal party is staying together tonight.

I'm not sure if I'll have a chance to finish another book or not. I'm going to try to finish at least one more short one so I can hit my weekly goal amount, but it probably won't be until a few hours before the week ends. I'll let you know several hours before then if I'll have one or not.

Maddy | 2127 comments About that "The wonderful wizard of OZ"

Here is a page which claims it has over 39,000 words -

And a screenshot of my ebook app that claims it has over 43,000 words

Amy the book-bat (batkisses) | 873 comments The Darkest Corners by Kara Thomas Ohio Road Trips, 2nd Edition by Neil Zurcher
brown covers?

message 179: by ❶İձ❶ (new)

❶İձ❶ (ttea) | 9616 comments For some reason, GR is doubling my read dates (adding empty one to one I've add). So if you notice dates missing, let me know.

Not sure about first one - if face is brownish or greyish or whiteish
Second is no to me, at least not enough to count for cover points

message 181: by LaurLa (new)

LaurLa | 2335 comments I agree with Tea - no to both on brown. Too much whitish/cream on the first and too much grayish sky on the second.

message 182: by LaurLa (new)

LaurLa | 2335 comments Another blue-green cover. Enough blue to call it blue?

message 185: by Louise (new)

Louise | 3295 comments With 1 day 6hours to go we have 30 books completed. Great work team.

@Alex how are you getting on with your book?

If you have any books that you are currently reading that will be finished in time please ensure they are posted an hour before deadline to give LaurLa and myself a chance to get them logged.

A reminder with regards to Sins. When allocating a book to a sin we look to go in terms of highest points first:

1️⃣ Cover - Pink; Yellow, Green, Red, Blue, Purple, Brown - worth 5 points

2️⃣ Genre (From 1st page of Shelves) - Historical Romance, Dystopia, Young Adult; Guilty Pleasure; Dark Fantasy; Contemporary; Space Opera - 3 points

3️⃣ Sin Specification - Check first page of thread.

Louise | 3295 comments Breakdown for the Sloth mini challenge is in message 9 of this thread.

Animals can be found in the title, on the cover or in the text, please indicate sentence when posting.

message 189: by Maddy (new)

Maddy | 2127 comments Question - are making some king of a plan? Or everyone is reading something and you will organize as you see fit?

message 190: by Louise (new)

Louise | 3295 comments To maximise points we need to prioritise in order of

Tricky Animals - 7 points each
Easy Animals - 5 points each
Cover colours - 5 points.

Post here what you think you can read for next week and we’ll mark it on the spreadsheet 🙂

message 191: by Maddy (new)

Maddy | 2127 comments I am trying to finish another book today, but I will take a look at some point tomorrow and let you know :)

message 192: by Gareless (new)

Gareless | 48 comments Sorry!!! I finished my book but haven’t had the chance to post it. I will do it right now!!

message 193: by Amy the book-bat (new)

Amy the book-bat (batkisses) | 873 comments I will for sure be reading Serpent & Dove (Serpent & Dove, #1) by Shelby Mahurin in the upcoming week. Will see what else I have with animals on the cover/title. There are always random animals popping up in the text.

message 194: by Louise (new)

Louise | 3295 comments I’ve found a tapir (t) in We Bought A Zoo by Benjamin Mee and a cozy mystery series Penguins and Mortal Peril (Madigan Amos Zoo Mysteries #1) by Ruby Loren which has lots of animals. Downloaded the boxed set in KU and delve in. Also Save the Date by Annabeth Albert has dogs 😊

message 195: by ❶İձ❶ (new)

❶İձ❶ (ttea) | 9616 comments there is The Real Macaw book by Donna Andrews. I think I've read it this year so I'm not sure if I can reread it yet. need to check when I get to the comp (this app is killing me).
