June | 18 comments Alright it is January 1, and I am starting the challenge with Space Invaders by Nona Fernández. It is only 70 pages, so shouldn't take long! Next will likely be The Living Days by Ananda Devi, as I already own it and I really admired Eve out of Her Ruins.

After that, my plans are loose. Like Lark, I enjoy reading the latest releases. I would like to read books that may appear on the BTBA or Booker International Prize lists. However, I am on a very tight book budget, so I try to get books from the library whenever possible.

June | 18 comments 1. Space Invaders by Nona Fernández - First book read in 2020 was a hit! This short little beauty was an evocative, piercing, unique look at life under Pinochet.

Sara (saraelizabeth11) I’d noticed this one too, as Graywolf Press (one of my favorite independent publishers) released their edition last year. Good to know you found it interesting.
