I've read both of these within the last year, so I won't be re-reading them, but I will certainly pipe in on the discussions. Two FANTASTIC books!

There are usually several copies in my Goodwill each time I'm there, so hopefully there will be in yours as well, Lori! Good luck! :)
I'll be adding Rebecca to my October list (just have to get it...). The Poisonwood Bible is on the to-read list in another group... Wonder if I can squeeze it into October too. Otherwise I'll just have to wait until November to read it. ;)

Thank you very much ! I'll have less time at the end of the month, cuz it's October & I always go to the International Film Festival here in São Paulo, but this year it's only gonna begin on October, 23rd, WHICH, BTW, is my birthday !!! Thank you Lori!

It's a truly wonderful book, but I wouldn't call it "scary." I've read it at least 10 times, starting in my early teens. There's a new novel out - I think it's called Rebecca Revisited or something by a newer author who tries to sort out the unanswered questions left by the original "Rebecca." Very well done.
I just browsed Rebecca at Borders; it looks really good. I will pick it up in a few weeks and join the discussion.
I have both books and look forward to reading them. :)
I have been meaning to read both for ages. I actually read Rebecca before, but it was so long ago! I have the edition that was printed in 1943 - it's tiny to conserve the materials for the was effort. I can't wait, so I might start a few days early.
I started 'The Poisonwood Bible' at 2 am this morning, and it is going to be one of those books that stays with you for the rest of your life ...
The Poisonwood Bible isn't translated into Russian and not available for me, I'm starting Rebecca in a few days.
