Annie | 424 comments 1. The Bookshop by Penelope Fitzgerald. I read this one for a book group I'm in. Enjoyed the author's writing style, dark humor, and wit!

Annie | 424 comments 2. Let It Snow by Nancy Thayer. A little taste of Nantucket at Christmas time. Thayer's characters and descriptive writing give the reader a glimpse of the island lifestyle in the winter months. A NetGalley advance reader copy that I finally had some time to read!

Three books down, Annie, you're cruising! A book a week is a great start!

Elyse, Thanks! Here's hoping I can keep up the momentum.
Looks like you're off to a great start this year also!

Annie | 424 comments 4. The Night Swim by Megan Goldin. I had the pleasure of reading an e-galley of this new thriller - publication date is August 4, 2020. This was a perfect read for me - subject that tears at the heart, great characters, and twisty enough to keep me th urning the pages.

Have you also read her debut, The Escape Room? I had so many questions at the end of it. But I do want to read this one. Waiting to see if NG approves me!

Elyse, I did read her debut, The Escape Room. I enjoyed it but somehow it felt a bit lacking. I enjoyed The Night Swim much more! Hope NG gives you the go ahead soon!

Ugh I just checked and I was declined. :( Well, that's okay as I really need to get my ratio up!

Boy, I know that feeling! Sometimes wonder if I'll ever get my ratio anywhere near the suggested percentage...

I'm seriously in awe of those who have the 80% or higher ratio! I just love free books too much and I went way overboard when I first started with NG. lol. So now I'm trying to get better. I'm only at 20%...eep. But I did go up 4% since last January! lol. I really need to STOP REQUESTING. But I can't. So I'm trying to read more!

I'm finally at 48% but it took my forever to reach it. I also struggle with too many requests - it's a very real problem, lol!!

Annie | 424 comments 5. The Look-Alike by Erica Spindler. Enjoyable thriller, probably 3.5 stars for me. My first book by this author - will probably be checking out more of her novels.

Annie | 424 comments 6. The Last Letter from Juliet by Melanie Hudson. Enjoyable enough historical fiction, but many typos/grammar issues which I found really bothered me!

7. Don't Overthink It: Make Easier Decisions, Stop Second-Guessing, and Bring More Joy to Your Life by Anne Bogel. This was an e-galley, book publishing date is March 3rd. Review to come. Well written!

Oh no, that's awful! I have a hard time liking a book if there are multiple grammatical errors. It's painful!
