This will run all year.
The idea is to try to read and record ONE book originally published in each decade listed. Feel free to cut and paste the template below to get started.

This is the official thread for posting lists and sharing ideas about how to complete this challenge.

This year being the start of a new decade, we are going to mix things up a bit! We will have 3 options on how to complete this challenge
* Read a book from every decade from 1820-1920
* Read a book from every decade from 1920-2020
* Read a book from every YEAR from 2000-2020

Also, GR does a "Best Books of ____" by decade, which is really helpful. You can access through LISTOPIA or Google "Best Books of (decade/year)" to get to them.

Eileen | 1850 comments Okay this one seems much more challenging, but since I do enjoy contemporary fiction, I'm going to attempt the 2000 challenge. I might also see what I can handle in 1920-2020 decades if only to find some reads outside of my comfort zone. Eileen | 1850 comments Ooh, I had a very successful year for this. I read 3 of them in the last couple of days (1975, 1976, 1981), but I managed to finish decade books (1-2) from 1820-1969, and then I was able to finish one book for every year from 1970 to 2020 (message 3). I really love this challenge because it caused me to revisit some old favorites, as well as many classics that have "been on my list" for ages. I'm looking forward to doing a similar challenge next year!
