This year-long challenge is based on the game of Clue. Each character from the game represents the career of the MAIN CHARACTER (male or female) of the book you read.
For example, for Miss Scarlet/career in law you might go with The Firm. For MrGreen you might choose The Name of the Rose.

Miss Scarlet: career in law
Colonel Mustard: career in the military
Nurse White: career in medicine
Reverend Green: career in religion
Professor Plum: career in education
Mrs. Peacock: career in business
Sergeant Gray: career in law enforcement
Mr. Brown: career as a con artist or spy

Extra-Credit..
Mr. Black/Mr. Boddy: is dead or dies in the story

Some interesting history-

Eileen | 1850 comments Thick: And Other Essays are nonfiction essays written by an educator. Does that make it appropriate for Professor Plum or is this challenge only for fiction stories?

If you read the description, it talks about the main character of the book, so that means it's for fiction..

Eileen | 1850 comments Okay, I finished finally with A Time to Kill. Whew! If I get the hankering, I might try another round of this, partly because it was really fun to look for books to fit these categories. :)

Clue The Character/Career Challenge:

Read a book where the main character has the following careers

Miss Scarlet (law): A Time to Kill
 Colonel Mustard (military): Colombiano
Reverend Green (religion): Go Tell It on the Mountain
Professor Plum (educator): The Legend of Sleepy Hollow
Mrs. Peacock (business): Razor: Becoming a Hero
Sergeant Gray (law enforcement): Boundary Waters
Mr. Brown (con artist/spy): Catch Me If You Can: The True Story of a Real Fake
Mr. Black/Boddy (dead or dies): One of Us Is Lying
