Book Riot published a challenge for 2015, and we thought it'd be fun to participate! At times I found the book painful reading, the treatment of the slaves is awful.
The author has done lots of research to keep the story accurate, and the addition of the author's notes is great for more information.

It took a while to get into the story, but then I was totally absorbed.

A fun story, very enjoyable.
