Kristie | 5908 comments Just started this one. I'm about 4% in and a bit confused with the characters already. I have to go back and make sure I have it straight!

Kayt (kaytm) | 135 comments Just starting this tonight, have done great reviews, can't wait to see where this goes.

Tracey | 90 comments I read this one last month. I found it well written, but it wasn't my type of book overall.

Eldarwen | 5004 comments It's a bit confusing at the start yes, but you get the hang of it fairly quickly.
I've read this last year and quite enjoyed its sense of epicness.

Thanks. I looked up the character list and that did not help at all. I think I know the important characters and the side people I'll get to know as I go on, so I'm just going to continue. I can always go back later, if I need to.

Joanne Monroe (lollijojo) | 10 comments so I've just read where Trapis tells the story of Tehlu and Encanis. I found it so interesting to read!

I've been loving the book so far.

The first scene was the most difficult for characters so far. I was confused in the very beginning, but I've been able to keep them all straight since and I'm almost halfway through.

Kristie | 5908 comments How's everyone doing with this one? I'm on chapter 73, so about 80% through. I'm really enjoying Kvothe's story. I'm curious about (view spoiler)

Serena Grey (serenagrey) I read this book about two years ago. Never read the sequel. Maybe it's time for a reread.

puppitypup This is my favorite book of all time. The broken strings just broke my heart.

Kristie | 5908 comments Sorry to hear it, Kathleen! It's a long book to muddle through, if you're not enjoying it.

Eldarwen | 5004 comments It might get better for you once you've gotten past the beginning?

message 18: by Kristie, Moderator (Retired) (new) - rated it 4 stars

Kristie | 5908 comments I've finished and thought it was really good. It seems like not much really happened, but I enjoyed it. I think part of that feeling is that the story is incomplete. It is meant to be read together with the other 2 books in the trilogy to create one complete story.

Eldarwen | 5004 comments I had that feeling as well, but when you look back over it, Kvothe did do quite a lot after all and there was quite a bit of information in the book. Odd feeling :-)

Silvia Turcios | 395 comments I just started , but I think the story is very interesting and I'm eager to know the past of Kvothe.

Silvia Turcios | 395 comments I finished it, I loved it :)

message 22: by Siew Yi (new)

Siew Yi (ahcaoreads) First read this book when I was a young teen (heh I'm 20 this year) I must say even though the characters might confuse you initially, they are really easy to identify once you get into the story.

I have re-read this books a couple of times because I really love the story development as well as the author's style of writing.

Continue reading don't give up! :)

Alex (AlexG123) The name of the wind is my favorite fantasy series I have ever read. I wish this book could have been 2000 pages long
