Heidi (heidi28) I've just started reading The Silver Linings Playbook. If I don't finish it until the new year I'll be using that!

Excellent choice! It's a really good book, especially if you like dystopian fiction.

message 13: by Ann (new)

Ann I just finished "White Bird in a Blizzard" by Laura Kasischke. I'm not sure how I feel about this book. On one hand I liked parts but other parts I disliked a lot.

I'm very interested to see your review of this book Nathan! It was recommended on my public library's website and I scooped it up. I just finished it; I found it to be a good read but a VERY confusing one!

Jennifer (librarygirl94) | 0 comments I just finished "Wolf in White Van" by John Darnielle; it was recommended on the website for my public library and I thought the premise sounded really interesting.

Finishing the book was like coming out the other side of a maze that twists and turns; as soon as you feel like you know which way you're going, you feel like you've been going the wrong way the whole time!

I'm hoping other participants will choose this selection as I'm anxious to hear how others feel about it!

Wolf in White Van by John Darnielle

message 17: by Anne (new)

Anne (texanne) I too just finished Wolf in White Van. I didn't feel like there were so many twists and turns as we were just being denied the information about how his face was deformed. That was doled out one little bit at a time. His recovery was interspersed with some bits from the time before his injury and info from Trace Italian. It wasn't linear but it didn't feel like plot twists to me.

Perhaps I didn't explain what I was trying to say very well...I agree with you completely in that there weren't plot twists, more that I just couldn't seem to wrap my head around what was going on half the time. I would have moments of clarity and then a few pages later feel as though I had no idea at all what was going on.

I've since read several reviews here and other places online that have put some things in more perspective and certainly given me more to consider.
