Erin (erin36) | 484 comments Kris - I see that you're going to try out Troublshooters on audio. Do you already own the audios? The earlier books in the series were recently re-released with the famous narrating duo -- Patrick Lawlor and Melanie Ewbank. I've listened to some of the latter books in the series narrated by these two and they are awesome!

Kris (My Novelesque Life) (mynovelesquelife) | 2437 comments I don't own it but my library has a copy so I was going to put it on hold and try it out. I will check out who the narrator(s) are...thanks Erin!

Kris (My Novelesque Life) (mynovelesquelife) | 2437 comments My library is not super great with audios but will see if I can get the audio. Thanks, Andrew :)

I've only read The Mermaids Singing (Tony Hill & Carol Jordan, #1) by Val McDermid for a group read on Shelfari. But I've seen the TV series with Robson Green and it is fantastic. I think it may have affected by enjoyment of the book and not it a good way because I was expecting something different.

message 8: by Sheila (new)

Sheila (sheilaj) That happens a lot for me. I hated Rizolli and Iles and Longmire because they didn't follow the books but now I have accepted that they are both really good and enjoy the books AND the tv shows for their own merits. You should give the Tony Hill books another look Lauren. Very intense.

Ditto. I was very annoyed at first that the Rizzoli & Isles TV show didn't resemble the books and that the characters were so different. In the end, I just separated the two in my mind and enjoyed the show for what it was.

You've convinced me, Sheila. I'm going to add the 2nd Tony Hill book to my TBR.

The Wire In The Blood ranks as one of my most favorite audiobooks ever. Lauren, it's your kind of book and the audio format is a must.

Kris (My Novelesque Life) (mynovelesquelife) | 2437 comments D.G. - I've heard the series gets much better with each book so am willing to give it a shot. I wanted to listen to these ones on audio because James Marsten narrates them but my library doesn't have them :(

Jonetta - Damn! I really wish my library had them on audio. I'm going to suggest they buy a copy and see what happens.

message 14: by D.G. (new)

D.G. I'm one of the few people who didn't like James Marsters narration - I had to switch to print in the middle of the 1st book. But I understand he gets better as well.

Maybe I'll give the narration a 2nd shot. I find WAY easier to listen instead of reading so if I like a narration, I finish them sooner.

Kris (My Novelesque Life) (mynovelesquelife) | 2437 comments Whatever format works for you and no pressure. Some popular series are just not our cup of tea.
